I am in need of some advice and recommendations on speakers.
I currently own the follwing..
Front : MTX Monitor 10
Center : Klipsch KV-1
Rear: Technics SB-T100
Sub : JBL PSW-1000
TV: Pioneer Pro 100FD
AV receiver: Denon 3808 (gets here monday, WOOT!)
Yes, Im aware all my speakers are missmatched. This is due to the fact of up grading the speakers over time bit by bit.
As said before in the Topic, Need new center channel speaker or New LCR set up. Id rather NOT buy a whole new front L&R speaker.
My problem is that i have just purchased new furniture and where i planned where the current Klipsch speaker was going to go is too small of a fit. (Before you ask why didnt i measure out this "Spot" , its a long story.. but short n sweet is , stuff has been in storage, got new apartment, went furniture shopping without having access to my speakers so i didnt know how big the speaker was , so i had to guess on the size of the hole where the speaker was going to go... it ended up being too small)
The speaker is 20 1/4 wide, while the Hole in the furniture for the center speaker is only 19 /34. Im half an inch too small. (Save the jokes) .
I cant put the speaker in front of my Pio 50 Kuro because the height of the Speaker is so high, that its just high enough to be in the way of the screen..
I had a few options..
1.Mount the speaker on a bracket on the wall above the Plazma
2. Find some some type of Base and raise the TV by a few inches to clear the speaker.
3. Buy a new center channel Speaker.
I opted for #3. I may move many times... and mounting this speaker to the wall everyplace i move too can get costly with all the Hole fills n paint n what not. Finding some base for the tv to sit on sounded like a good idea, but it would be hard to match the color of the furniture, that and i have to worry about it scratcing the top of this wood hutch like thing.. So new speaker it is.
Any recomendations on speakers that are less than 19 3/4 wide?
I found one on best buy Mirage - OMNISAT 3-Way Center-Channel Speaker
Model: OMNISAT V2 | SKU: 7478446 .
Im tryin to keep my cost down to say 400 or less.. unless i can find a whole speaker package with LCR for under 1000 bucks.. But the fronts would have to sound better than my MTX's. I could then rotate the MTX to the Back and put the Technics on the Side in the middle of the room for 7.1... but i would prefer to just spend the 400.. but if theres a deal i shouldnt pass up...lol Remember , the center channel speaker HAS to be 19 3/4 or less.
