******** UPDATE on REGION CODING and VERSION TYPE FROM SONY PICTURES JAPAN - START ***********

1) REGION CODING - ABC

2) Whether Transporter-2 will be UNCUT ? The EUROPACORP version is supposed to be UNCUT and 24.5 seconds longer than the PG-13 theatrical version.

This is the same version as the dvd released from Asmik Ace Entertainment.

Now we just need Xylon's caps for these gems when they're out.

But specs wise, I'd say they beat the US FOX versions and the Universal HD-DVD offering of Unleashed.

Can anyone confirm that the Twin Pack will contain the Unrated version of The Transporter? I purchased the Japanese SE DVD a few years ago for the Unrated version, and I may just have to upgrade if that is the case for this Blu-ray.

Should mostly be the UNCUT version as it looks to be a straight lift from the EUROPACORP version. Anyways have requested Sony Pictures to check and revert back on this including REGION CODING. U.S consumers can blindly import as they are in the same boat as Japanese w.r to Blu-ray region coding.

thanks for the info

Awesome, but...enough with the twinpacks Japan! ID4 + TDAT twinpack, now this. They both make sense, but many don't like the second films in either set as much as the first. Separates would be nice.

Transporter 1 & 2 deserves to be in a twin pack as they both offer insane action from start to finish.
hm, i've just realised that they will be both availble only in twinpack? )))
just like SAWs

They also deserve to be available seperately. Choice is good.

Have updated the original post with the latest comments from SPE Japan.

The French BD of Transporter 2 is the 'unrated' version. I can't remember off-hand whether it's AVC or not, but the audio is DTS-MA. It's got Region B on the case but it's actually all-region and works fine on my US PS3. I've got the Japanese DVD of the first flick so I won't be rushing out to get the Jap BD set.
Is there any chance we'll be getting a SE in France of Danny? It seems like they got a lot of extras.

The cover for that Transporter pack is horrible.

Disc Type : BD-50 (not BD-25 as reported earlier)
DTHD 16-bit on Transporter 1 & 2
Unleashed - Saw audio bit rate touching 4.2 Mbps at times but remains between 1.8 Mbps - 2.5 Mbps.
Menus : Japanese Only
Optional English and Japanese subtitles.
Avg Bit Rate - 24-32 Mpbs (Just a guess)
PQ way better than the U.S release.

thanx for info !!
what is the best site for ordering ? (sending to europe )

Some happy news for Bit Rate fans.

Transporter 1 & 2 should be having an average bit rate of more than 29 Mbps.
Unleashed - around 26-28 Mbps.

However I wasn't wowed by the look of Transporter-1 probably attributed to the filming style and the source.

can you give me more info on the packaging for transporter? Is it a case with two discs or is it two cases?

Separate case for each movie. The case is slightly thicker than the regular Blu-ray cases but thinner than the U.K / O.Z cases. Please refer the first post for packaging info.

LOL. Sorry I cant help but laugh, they added 24 seconds and they are calling it uncut? That must be a pretty good 24 seconds.

The American Psycho "unrated" version had less than that added to it.

The extra 24 seconds contains added blood and violence that really gives the action scenes a rougher edge. Plus the editiing in the fights are better now when nothing has been cut out.
There are also a bit extra blood during the other fights as well, that was digitally erased in the PG-13 version.
Plus some of the crappy CGI FX has been redone in the Unrated version, but they still look kinda crappy to me

Those added 24 seconds sure are gold worth

Uncut or not the Jap version is superior to the Fox version in terms of visual quality.

But I think Dialog Norm has been applied to the DTHD tracks. Requesting some audiophile to check and confirm.
Can anyone confirm if Transporter 1 is uncut as well?
The Japanese DVD included the extended busfight and more violence restored in the movie, that sadly was only avalible as extended scenes in the extras on the US and European DVD:s due to the sissy PG-13 rating in the US.
Just watched the FRENCH BD of Transporter 1 that I borrowed from a friend.
IT´S UNCUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So if the Japanese TwinPack features this version then happydays
The biggest diffrence is the fight scene in the bus when Jason stab one guy in the leg with his knife, kicks some ass, pulls out the knife and stab another guy, while kicking some more ass. In the PG-13 version you barely see anything of the knife stabbing. This version is definately more brutal
post #26 of 31
Any japanese shops with english language for ordering? I don't read japanese.

I am yet to check the UNCUT scenes. Will try to check and confirm if the Jap version is uncut. But it should be uncut as some of the extras are in French language which means it's a direct rip off from the French edition.
