I have searched all over the net to find an answer to this problem and I hope you guys can help...Here goes.
I have a Onkyo HTS-894 Home theater 5.1 (2 hdmi ins) hooked to a Panasonic 50PZ77u on a comcast (moto) DCH3200 HD box. It runs hdmi from the STB to Onkyo hdmi in, Hdmi out to the panny. Works great ...So far no problems.
Decide to run a second monitor (I get a Gateway FDP1976w flat panel), which has a VGA and DVI-D ins. I order a 25' HDMI to DVI cable and run it off the receiver. It displays a picture with a heavy purple tint.
I got a 6' cable(incase of the length) and same problem.
I get a HDMI splitter and split at the cable box, same problem.
When I hook the HDMI->DVI cable directly into the STB, and only run the lcd monitor, the picture is perfect.
I do not know what to do? It has a s-video monitor out so I could get a s-video to DVI-D or VGA cable made and try that. Any suggestions short of buying a new tv for the second location would be greatly appreciated.
