We recently moved into a newer house. The family room has the side-by-side fireplace/entertainment nook that I find pretty difficult to put a decent A/V system in place. I've framed the nook so that I can mount my TV and give it a more finished look (pictures attached), but my speakers do not fit anywhere in the room.
So i'm interested in the monoprice in wall/ceiling speakers. They seem to get great reviews on here for the price. There are currently 4 in ceiling RS speakers in the 4 corners of the room. My question is, has anyone used the 7604s in-ceiling? My other option would be to put them in the "pillars" on either side of the tv. I don't know what's behind those pillars, but I'll assume it's just unfinished back there (maybe insulation since the left side is an outside wall and the right side is the fireplace?). They are roughly 9 inches wide, so I think the 7604s would just fit, although it would be tight. Can anyone here give some input on which placement would be better with these speakers? would it be better just to replace the ceiling speakers and not worry as much about sound quality since the room isn't ideal to begin with?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I should note that since this is our main gathering area the WAF needs to be high. It's also our only TV at the moment, so it will server as the main tv/movie hub until we do something with the unfinished basement.
