looking for some opinion before I start buying

I want a HTPC that is capable of upconverting DVDs and at some point within the next year being able to play blu rays. So far, this is what I'm considering getting:

GIGABYTE GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard
AMD X2 4200
2gb ram

Would that be enough to be able to play blu rays in the future, if I upgrade the onboard video to a card later? Is that even enough to upconvert with ffdshow?

If so, how much would I need to spend on a video card to get it playing Blu rays.

My tv is 720p so I dont need it to be able to handle 1080p.

If you run your memory in a dual channel 2x1GB configuration, you can play bluray using the onboard video, but you'll need a 5000+ or better CPU. Of course, you can also add a $50 ATI 3450 video card to guarantee HD playback. You'll only need to spend more money on an addon card if you plan on gaming.

If I add the $50 3450 would that elminate the need for the 5000+ processor? I wont be doing any gaming on this machine, except for maybe some emulation, but nothing that I dont already play on a machine with lower specs.

I dunno, if I wanted to spend $500 on an 8800gtx I would just buy a PS3.
