A few days ago several of my HD channels on Dish seem to have disappeared from the Channel Guides (Specifically, History HD, Discovery HD, National Geographic, etc.). I reset the box (VIP722) and downloaded the channel lineup info and then contacted support when nothing else worked. They tried many things to fix the issue over the phone but finally said I needed a service call. Then I was told there would be a charge for this. I have not changed anything with my service and I have the home protection plan. How on earth can Dish get away with charging me additional money for this?
Ive been with Dish for 6 months and enjoyed it over Time Warner immensely but even TWC didnt charge when something wasnt working. When you pay a subscription for channels you should not have to pay extra for them to resolve the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? I just wanted to see how common this practice might be.
