NAD T753 cuts out regularly....

Hello from a new member and I hope someone here can help.
I've had a NAD T753 receiver for a few years now. I've always liked NAD (used it when I was in the UK), but am worrying over this issue.
I recently purchased a Panasonic "upconvert" dvd player that has only RCA type coax digital out sockets.
I also have a NAD dvd purchased at the same time as the receiver, which I prefer to use for music.
I am finding (and this is causing some marital strife as the wife wants to get rid of the T753) that the receiver keeps cutting put, mainly (but not always) when I use the upconvert Panasonic, and usually when there is an explosion or gunshot in the movie.
I have then to reset and switch on again.
As a say, it's usually when we use the Panasonic, and the frequency makes it almost unusable.
I left a message on the NAD website support page almost a week ago, and it's been unanswered.
I am tempted to get better quality cables, but don't want to spend too much unless I knew that it would help the issue.
Any advice appreciated.

In addition to the above -
I just tried to play Sci Fi's Dune miniseries and the amp blew at the same time (right at the beginning) using both the Panasonic and the NAD dvd's.
I'd really appreciate some ideas.

Sounds to me like the amp is soft clipping (NAD Feature that is on my NAD Int Amp, may be on your receiver) and/or shutting itself down to protect itself.

Is the Receiver closed up in a cabinet? Are you still in warranty?

If the receiver is closed up in a cabinet maybe it is getting too hot. Do you have the recommended space above it (typically 3-10")? These power devices need to be able to cool themselves. If it is in a cabinet try taking it out of the cabinet and running the same material.

If it is in an open shelf and/or you know that you have plenty of ventilation contact NAD.

Also check your speaker wires and make sure that you don't have any strands touching other terminals.

Good Luck.
