Drywall Butt Joints using RSIC Supported Hat Channel

...I'm using RSIC-1 Clips to support metal hat channel for my theater room walls and ceiling. The RSIC layout instructions show placing a pair extra rows of hat channel, spaced 3" apart, at each location of a drywall butt joint. I understand the reasoning for this whenever a butt joint occurs at a location where there is no other support. However, are these extra channels really necessary at locations where the drywall is cut to a length such that the butt joint falls on an existing row of hat channel? Is there anything wrong with laying out the pattern such that all butt joint seams fall on one of the primary 24" spaced hat channel supports?

This will be viewed as heresy by some but if you are using two layers of DW neither layer edge really needs to fall on a channel for support. As long as you stagger all the joints the adjacent layer will support and line up the seams,

Same hold true for walls and ceilings without RSIC and channel. It's a little talked about speed trick. Think about the fact that a lot of homes have the drywall installed horizontally and there is nothing supporting the horizontal seams.
