Don't forget, the one I tested it on was a C3X720, not the C3X1080. I think the 1080 panel is larger and thus the light beam is larger. I don't think the IIIs will work with a C3X 1080 (but I don't have one available to verify).

ISCO II is 65mm. Fits a 50+mm or so wide beam on the intake.

Scott is the expert so I'll let him elaborate. (however I was told by JVC reps at both CEDIA & EHX that ISCO III will work fine w/ RS20. It's Schneider that is the problem lens for RS20)

Yes I'm sure the ISCO III Large one will work but what about this smaller S version? It is significantly smaller and it looks like the Schneider lens has about the same size lens as the S version?

Of course you meant the smaller lens (I forgot what thread this was).

I did read in the UK forums that at least one person was able to get the Schneider to work w/ the RS20 at a very long throw.

Considering the few RS20's in the country right now - it's doubtful anyone has tried the RS20/ISCO IIIs combination. I wonder just how many of the smaller ISCO lenses are really out there?

I'm on JVC's wait list for a demo unit. As soon (if) I get one I'll test it.

My expectation is that it will work, but would not advise ordering until we know for sure.

As for availability, I can get the S for anyone who wants one. I am however partial to the future proof IIIL. It won't matter what PJ you ever change to, the L will fit most everything out there.

Not supposed to discuss pricing, but I guess a difference is OK. Ballpark, 1 Cleveland difference. (with transport). FYI, there are some photos of the IIIS with the older JVC (Meridian) at CEDIA 08 on my website photo's link....

Thanks. Sorry if I broke a forum rule, but I thought talking MSRP prices was OK. Now I just have to wait and see if it will work with a JVC RS20.

No but JVC did. And I have a customer who verified it will work cleanly at a 1.6 TR.

And, to avoid ambiguity over whether or not that is 1.6 * the 1.78 or 2.35 width, I use this formula which takes all doubt out:

Distance = (Screen Height)/.5625*(Throw Ratio)

So for the JVC and a IIIS you are safe if your distance from screen to Projector is at least:

(Screen HEIGHT) *2.84

I think I will end up with about 16' throw distance. My screen height will be 55.3" so 55.3 * 2.84 = 157.05 or about 13'. Sounds like I am well within acceptable distance. I wonder how this lens would compare to the Prismasonic H1200R lens I have now?
