I do not remember hod did i screw up, but the bottom line is that RR, RL, C are wired with 14 and FR,FL with 16. Too bad, but baseboards were installed two hours ago.

Consequences?

(Pls dont tell to remove baseboards and rewire, spent half of Saturday installing them)

This my sound rather odd - but can your hear any differnce in sound quality between the channels with the system running? If you can't, I think you can rest assured no one else will either. The good news from this will be that you can leave the baseboarding in.

Assuming the 16-gauge wire can handle the amount of current you're pushing (not over a huge distance, or large amounts of current), then the 14-gauge is just giving you more headroom. It really shouldn't make any difference, given the scenario above.

and half of Sunday for painting baseboards ....

since the 16ga. is going to the front L & R speaker, the run should be fairly short. The 14ga. to the rears is longer. The center channel will be a short run, but the 14ga. won't hurt anything.

You may have a little bit of work to do on balancing the 5 speakers with their individual sound levels, but that is trial and error.

Bottom line, you should not have a problem

i would not worry about it. that will NOT make a difference you can hear at all.
