I just got a Samsung FPT5084 1080p plasma and was considering delaying purchasing an HD player, but at this price I am in for one.

I see Costco.com has a BDUP5000 for $479. Not a great price but maybe they will lower the price and with Costco's return policy I would think about buying one. Costco will basically let you return a DVD player for almost ever with no questions asked.

if its at secondact, refurb is pretty much a given...that's why its called 'secondact' . I bought one and it came in a samsung factory sealed refurb box. I also bought a squaretrade 3 year extended warranty for like $35...used a 40% code...here's a 30% code --- FRIENDS30

Same here, but doubt I need two! They would likely be even cheaper if the BD side of the player were as inexpensive as the HD DVD side..
