HELP! - How do I fix this? Can I fix this?

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could offer some advice. I was dusting today, and (because I'm an idiot ) I wiped the cloth over the front of my Dynaudio Focus 220 speakers. The dome on the top driver is now caved in (photo attached). Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks.

Do you have an adjustable suction vaccum cleaner? Set it so it just will grab the dome and it might pull it out. Put the damn grills back on, they are there to protect from this kind of mishap.

You are in Boston, did you get the speakers from Waltham (goodwins)? If so, call up your dealer to see what they say (I am sure they are authorized Dyn and have fixed similar problems and can give you tips). Otherwise, I would start with using a tape that I knew wouldn't damage the tweeter chemically, maybe masking tape.

My little nephew pushed in the tweeters of my Dynaudio Audience 52's. I carefully applied a piece of painters tape (doesn't leave adhesive behind) to it and pulled it out. The dent left a barely visible crease but sound is not affected at all.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the tips. The painter's tape sounds like a good idea. I DID get them from Goodwins, so I'll call them to see if they have any other ideas, too. Normally, the grills are on, and rest assured...they're on now.... Thanks again.
