Energy RC-30 vs PSB T45/55

Thread Starter
Howdy, once again looking for some opinions on some speakers. They will be powered by a Rotel RA-1062 and since I can't hook up a sub to the amp low end is fairly important. Music wise I am a metal/electronic guy and will also do a bit of gaming and movie watching.

Energy -30 ($600 a pair)
PSB T45 ($550)
PSB T55 ($680)

Thanks for the opinions,
Troy

The energy will be more laid back in both the mids and highs with tight bass with greater inner resolution. The t55 have a fuller sound and more upfront lively soundstage but with less detailed highs. Both are very good just different.

Own T45, and though I will highly recommend them for electronica and most type of music I do not for metal. I like metal, and my experience has been that such detailed mids and highs like the T45 produce do not favor metal music, plus usually they are not the best recordings and the T45 tend to bring out the bad of bad recordings. I recommend you to audition them with the music you like and see for yourself.

The T55 will fair better as it has a fuller sound, thought not by much. The RC Series I have not heard, but from what I have read here apparently they are very similar in sound to PSB Image Series.

I've just received the RC30s and agree that laid back is a good description. We had the KEF 2005.2 system prior to the RC30s and the difference in sound stage is immediately apparent. They are breaking in now, so too early to comment on overall impressions, but we can all ready hear a much larger open sound from them with fuller midrange and detailed highs.
