Small Theater Build Threads

Along the line of the "Best" build threads, how bout we compile a list of smaller theater builds. Smaller in the sense of physical size. I have a bit of an ulterior motive as my space for my upcoming build is only 11.5'x18'x8' so I'm trying to get as much info on a small build as I can. But also since the big expensive builds get all the press I think it's good to showcase some of the smaller builds.

Currently I'm liking this one a lot:

I was just thinking of this same thread but ya beat me to it. Alright, I've found a few theaters that I think are also cool. Would you mind if I helped you tag photos as well?

The build thread that inspired me is also the winner of "look what i did with this crappy basement". The thread which is now in archives didn't have much, but Kirk's web site is alive and well.

My room is 13x17. My columns are 9" each (in hindsight would have altered my design) - so the gap for my seating is 11.5. I just purchased a couch w/recliners that is 82" wide which will leave 28" aisles. A riser was poor WAF, so we were planning bar stools & bean bags for overflow seating. I am almosts done (and moving, sheesh), so should add final pics this weekend (or at the latest, next). Link in the sig.

Amazing, I hope I can have something like that one day.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. After 5yrs of looking at this website (started at <3.5k projectors, ended up here) I have come across so many small home theaters but I keep losing them later since they get buried under new threads or lost because of newer posts.

At least now there is a place we can see them all and I'll probably steal(I mean borrow) all of the photos from the builds I've linked so one can easily see what ht they'd like to read more about.

There's a ton of small ht's out there on avs so I'll keep a' lookin!

Don't forget Tom's HT, which is 14x20. I've re-read his thread a million times since my future HT will be the same exact dimensions.

This place is addicting! I'm just starting my build and can't seem to read enough or see enough other theaters! I'm getting some really good ideas and now know that I will have to ask someone about how to best do the wall treatments among other things.
The framing will be starting soon!

Great thread for comparison and ideas for those of us with smaller spaces to work with.

Awesome work victor-eyd.

Reading through this thread has pushed me over the edge - this weekend I'm building a screenwall for my 10'11" x 10'9" spare bedroom. Up to this point, we've just had our screen screwed to a painted plaster wall, with the speakers (Magnepan MMG's) hanging out in the room. My goal is something like what member luclin999 did in his Small Budget, Smaller Room build thread. I rendered it in sketchup last night - I hope to complete it this weekend.

Mine doesn't compare to most of these, but it certainly fit's the bill of being a "small theater build". My room is 10'.5" x 18' x 7'.

It's unique in that I arranged the room wide instead of narrow and did it on a limited budget of only 5k. Here it is.....

My last HT was an 11 ft. wide converted golf cart garage.

I'm doing another small theater. ~11' X 17.5'.
I'm doing a small one as well...quite possibly the smallest on this forum. My dimensions are 7.25'W x 13'L x 8'H...it'll be a shoehorn project. im sure it's FAR from ideal with regards to acoustics, but i'm too impatient to wait for an adequate space. I hope to be done in a month or so...will be sure to post pics.
