Columbia, SC - HDTV - Page 280

Why would it be blacked out? It's not like the game isn't a sellout...
Does anyone know someone out of state that gets ESPN2HD? It would be helpful if we know if this is SC only event. If the channel is down to due to technical issues then that might be what is really going on.

I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that ESPN Advertised the game all week in HD and it is STILL on their Web Schedule and an hour before gametime they changed their minds !?!?!?

OK, I got a supervisor at TWC he says it has to do with the way ESPN is sending them the game in HD.

He said I might call ESPN and restate how much we want the game in HD here in South Carolina.

I'm calling now !!

Kevin have you spoken with TWC locally here yet ?? They are telling me the USC-Clemson game will also be "Blacked Out"... I like your theory and hope you are correct but they keep telling me at TWC that they got an e-mail saying our game at 7 is "Blacked out" ...

I'm getting the game in HD on D*

but I "live" in NY

anyone want to come over?

How about that KY-Tenn game...Unbelievable.
Well I've got ESPN2 HD on Dishnetwork right now. Hopefully it doesn't go away.
Arrgh!?!?! I would almost drive to IRMO and watch the game with a Tiger to see HD
post #8379 of 10033
This makes NO sense. TWC gave me the same line- it is ESPN that is blocking the HD feed.

Why would they do such????
makes you wonder if they would block The Ohio State.
the game is also blacked out on ESPN2 as well on D*...

Could it be because the Georgia-GTech game isn't over with yet??

ESPN isn't answering their phones...

Not that it will do any good, but I sent a message to the WIS Troubleshooter to see if they would be willing to get to the bottom of this. If so, I'm sure it would be after the fact.

Does the main cam look blurry and over-saturated with light for y'all with TWC?

The close-up cams (like usual) look spectacular...the main game cam looks like crap.

Hey look, at least we USC fans didn't have to witness another Blake Mitchell INT....

Yeah the main cam doesn't look so great. I'm seeing the same thing here as you are (Dish)

It seems like the contrast and the sharpness are waaaay too high...and its a normal problem on a lot of ESPN's games...
It is still NOT on for me here in Lexington.

This issue deals with the reverse mirror things that ESPN/ABC does for football. If they do a reverse mirror the mirror game will not be shown in HD. GA/GAtech was a fairly local game that the ABC stations shows in this part of the country. The Uconn/WVU game was on in most of the rest of the country. So in this area they do a reverse mirror and show the "main" game on ESPN2HD and block out the HD so you will watch ABC HD!

AS a big ten fan this reverse mirror was almost an every week problem. You could still see the UConn/WVU on ESPN2. The UConn game ran a little late so that is why the SC game was not on right away.

You can thank the Big Ten Network for this problem.

Now if we can just get the tiling to stop!!

It's just strange that their tight shots look great...can they not tell the difference between the tight shots and the long shots??

Honestly I think 1280x720 can only do so much. I find most day games on ESPNHD to be much better.
Well...the pic kinda sucked, but the outcome...
