Demos YOU want to see and play on ps3

Thought it would be interesting to see a list of games others want to see as future demos on ps3.

I know demos come and go (according to some they are up then suddenly disappear after time). So I am not sure if I missed out on demos of these but so far after about 40 different demos I have downloaded and played these are the ones I would love to see

Gran Turismo 5

Warhawk

Madden 08

Grand Theft Auto IV

Civilization Revolution

It'd be cool to see more demos, but your choices are a bit odd.

Gran Turismo 5

GT Prologue isn't even out yet, so GT5 is still in very early development.

Warhawk

Yes. Reasonable request.

Madden 08

If you've played any Madden since '02, why would you expect '08 to be any different?

Grand Theft Auto IV

If you've played any GTA game since GTAIII, you know what this will be like. If you like the GTA games, why would you need a demo?

Civilization Revolution

Like GT5, this game's still in development.

Anyhow, I guess I just rent games instead of relying on demos. I figure that they're a much fairer way to judge how good a game will be. Demos are non-final game code, so they tend not to be optimized, have bugs, and are all around not quite what the final game is. Demos are a nice little taste, but they often don't do a full game justice. All they do for me is justify why bad games are bad.

madden '08 on the ps3 is nothing like madden for the ps2. it's much better. gameplay wise, that is. they still need to add presentation, work a ton on the franchise mode and things of this nature, but if you just play other people or online it's a solid game.

Metal Gear Solid for sure

I'm hoping we get Hot Shots Golf 5. (I read that it's out in Japan as "Everybody's Golf" but am uncomfortable with making another PSN account.)

EDIT: Ooh, yes, Metal Gear also!

Maybe Lego Indiana Jones too?

Why? It doesn't involve any money transactions.

For me: LittleBigPlanet. End of discussion.

Actually I haven't played video games since about 2001ish, so these are all new to me (GTA, newer madden etc) I did buy Madden 07 super cheap ($15 at target on clearance) and its fun but from what I had read online Madden 07 was a huge disappointment, so i just wondered if 08 was improved graphics or play wise.

As for the Gran Turismo 5 sorry on that I was just looking at upcoming games, it looks cool to me but i have never even played Gran Turismo as a series 1,2,3,4 as for the prolouge, i am a bit confused, prologue is a "preview" of GT5 ? Sort of a sample of the game yet they are selling it vs offering one track as a demo type thing?

As for warhawk all i see and read is how cool it is, i shoulda grabbed it onsale at target the other week for $39 but will rent it (then no doubt a demo will come out the following week hehe). Sorta reminds me of Halo but I won't start any wars here about that.

Civilization Revolution, not sure on that one but being something outside the sports or shooter catagory and me being interested in some old pc sim stuff it looked like it might be something that would interest me, but again not quite ready for spending $50+ on it without a demo or rental, but heck rentals for me here are about $8-9 locally and my backwoods stores only carry the TOP games so i doubt ill see Civ Rev anytime soon to rent.

Its been a good 7 yrs since I played much game wise so I am lovin the demos of ps3, already have a few games on my BUY list, burnout, ghost recon 2, T Hawk Proving Ground, all just from playing the demos, but i guess warhawk sells enough they dont need a demo unless i missed it 5 months ago and its gone now as a demo.

I'd like to see a demo for Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. The X360 guys are saying it sucks, but I want to see for myself.

Honestly, Warhawk and Halo are really nothing alike. Both great games but very different.

I would have to agree. From what I've seen, warhawk is more like Frontlines.

I would really like a warhawk demo as well. I was about to get it last week when it was cheaper, but after the MP demo, I thought Frontlines appealed more to my taste.

I'd like to see demos for all their downloadable games. Similar to what Microsoft does for its "Arcade" games. It's puzzling to me why the demo for, for instance, Pixel Junk Monsters, has been released nearly a month after the game was made available. What's worse is that most of the other downloadable games don't even have a demo to try first.

Is Madden back for play commentary in 08 for ps3? Are the graphics better than 07 ps3 Madden?

I own 07 madden (got on clearance at Target for $15) but wondered if it was worth stepping upto the 08 Madden for ps3, commentary ramble from the big guy always makes me laugh and if graphics are better i might pony up for 08 version (or just wait for 09), just curious for those who know difference between 07 and 08 madden for ps3.

I never had ps2, i think the last madden game i played was literally like 2001 madden for xbox (original xbox) the big black brick i call it that doesn't work anymore in my closet hehe.

Since it's after the Super Bowl you can probably get Madden 08 relatively cheap. But it's also not really that long until Madden 09. Depends on how much virtual football you want to play over the summer . Personally I would wait for 09.

The sleeper hit this spring: Condemned 2: Bloodshot

Twisted Metal and Little Big Planet, a multiplayer twisted metal demo would be insane.

every game should have a demo, time limited, level limited, whatever it takes, a demo is a must. Games are too $$$ today for me to risk getting somethinig home and within 5 mins think.....this is crap.

AS for their classics, and arcade stuff. There is no excuse for the lack of demo's on the PSN network for this stuff. Live arcade does this the right way, and is the model of how to do it.

Warhawk certainly needs a demo. I myself don't usually like online games like this, but it might be different enough to enjoy it. No demo, not buying it. I'm home with injury, and going out and renting games not so easy, and online renting places don't work out well where I am too due to shipping times. Demo's...more demo's please, the amount or lack thereof of them on the PSN network is laughable compared with Live.

Wow! You're in for a real treat if you haven't played the GTA games or GT games before. If you have a console with backwards compatibility, go pick these games up right now. They're cheap ($2-10) and readily available.

If you've even got a sliver of interest in Warhawk, you should just pick up a copy. It's not my favorite game on the console, but it's definitely a lot of fun. I've put many an hour into it. And it's honestly nothing like Halo; far more like the old Battlefield games on PC.

Exactly. Pain and High Velocity Bowling both need demos. I simply won't buy a downloadable game without a demo. Microsoft got this right. Sony should copy it and force developers to include demos for all PSN games.

The problem with a Warhawk demo is that's it's an online only game. I don't know how they would make a demo.

Plenty of online only games have had demos.

Its technically a multi-player only game (so no single player campaign); you could set up a local game with up to 4 players on the same PS3 playing split screen.... but Warhawk is truly defined by its online experience. I'd say the main reason to play offline would be for practice sessions and learning map layouts. Also, there are no BOT's to play against offline, so it would be at most 4 real players on one PS3.

Pretty much any demo I've played has served as a letdown and a definately nonpurchase for me. Even good demos (NGS, Burnout) didnt lead to purchases because it felt like I'd play the game already. I can see not including demos for PSN games because usually they are pretty shallow. I wonder how many more people would buy them after playing a demo vs. how many ppl it would make not buy the game because they've already played it.
