I notice that my a2 remote works my xa2 except for the picture button. Are all Toshiba remotes the same format? Will my a2 work the a3,a30,a35?

Yes, they are the same except when it comes to the extra settings available to the XA2.

Just to clarify. Maybe Toshiba's HD remotes work interchangably, but I own an upconverting Toshiba sd-K860 (fairly new...has HDMI) and the remote for that doesn't work on my A3. I wasn't expecting it to, but just in case someone out there was curious.

My A3 and A35 came with different remotes, but they work on each other.

HD-XA1, HD-XA2, and HD-A30 remotes all work with all players.

In order to enable the HDMI output on the A1 & XA1 you need the origional remote, since the other generation remotes do not have a "V.Output" button.

I just set up my new Onkyo 805....when I turned it on using the Onkyo remote, my A35 turned on at the same time. Guess it really is a dressed up XA2.
