Using PureVideo decoder w/geforce 6200 to accelerate H.264 codec?

2.7 ghz celeron
1 gig ram
256mb geforce 6200

Can I use the Nvidia Pure Video decoder to accelerate the h.264 codec and take some of the load of my cpu? My cpu is too slow, usage is at 97-100% during playback. My videos stutter and the audio is OOS.

The files I am trying to play are 720p .mkv tv shows and movies. They are all h.264 codec. I'm using media player classic, core avc, heali media splitter and running windows XP.

Any suggestions for smooth playback or is this system hopeless?
