I don't know how much this matters to the HD-DVD people but this is now available on Amazon UK for pre-orders. Blind buy for me.

Looks like nothing more than a placeholder to me.

It has a date and a price...that means it isn't a placeholder. It could be a mistake (mistaken DVD listing) but not a placeholder.

June 2, 2008 release. It would be nice if it did make it.

That def a buy, but like others will it make it...June 2 is still a few months away which scares me...i mean just look at the Beowulf commercials, they already dumped the HD DVD part of the commercial....hopefully it still comes out next week but point being with stuff like that it already scares me about preordering and HD DVD.

No point in ordering this. It won't see the light of day.

People should pre-order. If enough do so, then they will be less likely to cancel when there's a sizeable order they can make money on.

I have:-)

I'm in!

I'm in for it too.

This looks to good to be true, but I put my stake in. What a swan song for HD DVD if it happens.

even toshiba was bought out by Sony, not just warner brothers...!~

Signed up as well.

Jusr preordered. Hey,let's get out the word, the more we order the better the chance it will make it...
Pre-ordered as well. I hope this makes it out. My most anticipated HD release.
ordered.. let's hope it's true...

Why isn't it on the US Amazon page?

It doesn't matter to me where I get it from, since HD-DVD's don't have region coding.

I ordered it, (and I know people in London if they won't export it.)

I still have my bets on this not seeing the light of day. At least not on HD DVD.

Whether or not it's released isn't in Amazon's hands.

Btw. Amazon.uk offers a good number of exclusives on HD DVD (e.g. Robin Hood Season 1, King Kong 1976, The Fog with a different cover art - all 3 just arrived today , In The Shadow Of The Moon, The Motorcycle Diaries - very good film about Che Guevarra, Sexy Beast, Touching the Void, ... )

WTH. Placed a pre-order.

Credit card won't be charged until it ships. If I'm pleasantly surprised, so be it.

Wait wait wait. An HD-DVD release of a Paramount title? Of the entire trilogy for a little more than $30US?
Am I the only one that sees something seriously wrong with that.

When Paramount quits a format, they drop it cold and fast. It's looking like they may have cancelled There Will Be Blood. And they're bundling a masterpiece with 2 extra films for a reasonable price. Not likely.

They announced a bunch of titles in the UK leading all the way to June. This doesn't really surprise me (besides the price)

1. Your math score wasn't too good, huh? It's ~44 USD shipped.

2. When Paramount quits they do it whatever way they want to do, let's stop making up fake urban legends, shall we?

3. EU is entirely different form US and has sane release rules, less tolerant for extreme monopoly etc.
