Replacing 2 Bose 301's and Bose Center Speaker...something under 700 online?

As the title explains, I have two Bose 301's (I know...I know) and the vc10 (I think that is the model) Bose center speakers in my livingroom right now. I have no more than $700 with shipping and tax to replace them. I currently have a Harmon Kardon AVR 525 acting as the amp and my HTPC is acting as the head unit as almost everything is done through the HTPC. The sound card used is an X-Meridian 7.1 card (using analog outs to the receiver of course) and has upgraded op amps.

Anyhow, I'd like top start with these three getting replaced and $700 is all I will have to do this. Any suggestions? I wish I could replace my subwoofer too but realize that that might be a little too much for that budget (have older Yamaha YST-SW160).

Thanks for any suggestions!

you can get a very respectable 5.1 complete system from "The Speaker Company".

The P6-PR speakers which are part of this package got a favorable review on Audioholics dot com forum as decent, good sounding speakers for the price. Note the corporate address of the company, then check the corporate addresses of Denon and Marantz, both part of D&M Holdings.

with a 30 day trial and free return (you must keep all the original packaging), you really can't go too far wrong in giving them a try. I am going to order a pair of P6-PR front bookshelves for my sister, who wants basic performance and not brand names.

I picked up a pair of the PSB B25's with a C40 center. I also got a BIC sub. All of this for my bedroom....a tad more than you might want to spend...the speakers were $545 shipped and the Sub $249 shipped. The PSB's sound great and I can't believe how well the BIC sounds.
I replaced a 1 day old Onkyo 5.1 HTIB. What a difference.

Thanks but those speakers are less than $300 and involve surrounds which I do have and do paln to replace still but not right off. I wanted to start with the main 3 and MAYBE squeeze in a sub if that was an ok idea.

I can't get better than that for $700?! When I think speakers, I certainly don't think of Sony.

I recently replaced some Bose 301s and a nondescript center with a pair of T55s from saturday audio in CHI. I listened to the T45s while I was there.

The T45s are $499 plus shipping. I wasn't looking to do center at the same time, but the PSB Alpha C1 is less than $200...

Coming from some Bose 301s, the T45s were a HUGE improvement. I am so happy right now, I can't begin to explain it. I thought I would have to spend thousands to get such a clear improvement.
