I had just about finished picking out my build when I saw that my mobo will support the IR receiver from Inteset. However, as it needs to have a hole drilled and the pcb mounted within line of site, I'm curious if I could make it fit inside the front panel. It looks like the middle may be enough space, but I wanted to be sure. Here's the dimensions of the PCB...

1 1/8” W x 1 1/8” L x 3/8” H

Thanks for the help!

The "eye" of the receiver is perpendicular to the PCB so it's not the PCB that you mount but the little bracket that comes with it. The PCB will end up perpendicular to the front panel of the case. With the Realan cases I just mount the PCB on the bracket and the bracket to the floor of the case using some double-sided foam tape. There's a ton of room on the "floor" of the Node 304 -- you just have to find a spot that doesn't interfere with the PSU since that's where it's mounted. Then, you just need a 1/8" hole to stick the "eye" into.

Just got the case in today, and it looks like it's not going to fit

I suppose I could get creative and maybe try and solder some wires to extend the eye and mount the pcb/bracket somewhere else, but that may be a bit of overkill.

Anyone have any better suggestions? Would a bluetooth receiever be better perhaps? I'd like to have the abilty to turn on the PC using a remote.

Did you find a solution to this? Have just bought the same kit as had the same idea. Isn't there enough gap on either side of the PSU?

Sorry! I did end up fitting it in the front cover pointing up towards the grating using double sided tape. This is probably more of a temporary solution for me, as with the case on top of our entertainment center, we do have to point our remote a little higher to get it to register. But there is plenty of room in that cover! I plan on moving my SSD there eventually so I can have a total of 6 Hard drives plus the SSD.
