Stand Alone PVR - Non-HDCP Material - What's Best?

I have a need to record computer and presentation feeds from cameras. The content will all be non-HDCP and the connection method will be HDMI with embedded audio. Typically 2-channel.

Is there any product out there, at a reasonable price, which can easily do this and can be controlled?

There are a number of HDMI recorders on Amazon and the like, which actually seem to be useful and almost ideal, but none of them seem to have remote controls. The more specialty brands like Crestron and Extron are all ridiculously priced and have 100 video processing features which are completely unnecessary.

I would appreciate any thoughts anyone may have.

Prefer: Always on solution or discrete on/off. Discrete record/stop control. Playback is not necessary.

Did you ever figure this out? Please share. I am looking for similar, video camera recording, but need live playback and video delay.
