Cord cutter advice- really need help
 
I have a non-smart tv. With only 2 hdmi ports and in use. I would like to know the best way to watch ota recordings.

buy a dvr and record ota? :confused:

Can you suggest one that has a tivo like function for recording without fees? I will sacrafice one of my hdmiports. Thank you.

buy a tivo with all in service for $500, it wont have any monthly fees.

Thank you. Unfortunately I answer to a higher authority,
like ahem.... my wife. having some health issues it'snot the best time for expenses as my dreams were already crushed of not getting a 4k tv. thanks again.

its android so you will have to keep on top of it (updates, annoyances, etc). if you want a toaster that just plugs in and works, then this is not it, its a tivo.

Do you already have an antenna of some kind to pull in the over the air channels? with only two hdmi ports, you will need a hdmi switcher to add an additional cable to your system, such as one of these from the list.

Here is a box to look at, to watch ota channels and it has record functions. Im sure you can do some reading here to see if this box is good for the job.
