Well, since I can't change the 2nd line of the titles on my Phillips DVDR3576H, is there any way to set the clock back to the way it came out of the box? I don't want a date or time on my recordings, because I will be putting generic titles on my home movies without too much detail, and the recording date on the thumbnail will confuse my relatives that watch them. I want to set the date back to the way it came....--/--/--

I have it unplugged right now, but not sure how long it will take...and if it is like a PC, I don't want to remove the case and poke around to see if there's a CMOS battery just yet.....

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

5 minutes should be enough time to lose clock.

I wasn't sure it would let you get away with an unset clock... interesting!

Obviously no timer rec, but it'll be interesting to see if that's all that's affected by no clock!

I think you should make sure all clock menu options ar OFF!? If not, it'll search for a PBS time signal at noon and midnight and might get "cranky" if it can't find one?

Well, so far so good. I actually recorded my first video yesterday with the clock unset, so the thumbnail won't distract my folks with it's "July 19th, 2008" record date. They'll be drawn to the "Home Videos" title.

I'm only using it to dub right now, and I turned off the "auto clock" search option.
