TV Worth Recording Alert: From 5 am Fri, Aug 3, thru 5 AM Sat, Aug 4(Central Time): TCM will air 24 hours of Johnny Weismuller movies. You know, the REAL Tarzan! biggrin.gif All 12 of the JW Tarzan movies, plus some Jungle Jim movies, plus a special on Tarzan & the movies. 50(& more!) yrs ago, *early* on Saturday mornings, I used to sit on the living room floor & watch the test pattern while waiting for the Tarzan movie to start. Remeber, 24 hours, including All the Real Tarzan movies. OK, now I gotta go out back & practice my Tarzan yell & find a grapevine... wink.gif

These days, I record more off of Antenna TV and ME TV than any other channel, most of the time. Maybe right now, with USA showing so many of the summer shows I like, it might, temporarily, be number one, but t hat will be short-lived.

I haven't recorded anything off of USA literally in decades. Probably since the 80's, when they uses to show those fun, low-budget, beach-skin, two band-aids and a cork flicks.

Well, let's see...

Burn Notice
Covert Affairs
Psych
Royal Pains
White Collar

For a start.

Syfy has two shows. I'm not sure about the other networks yet. It depends on the fall schedules.

Syfy has nothing for me. Back when they changed their name from Scifi to Syfy, they also changed the bulk of their content from SCIence FIction to SillY FantasY

Ghosts, parabnormal, vampires, werewolves and zombies are NOT science fiction.

You forgot to mention wrestling, which might be fiction/fantasy, but is most certainly NOT science fiction. If the rumors are correct, the wrestling saved the channel from going under.frown.gif

Yup. I record a lot off of METV and AntennaTV. James West and Artemus Gordon are as entertaining today as when these were first broadcast.

I have that episode from The Invaders on DVD. The Syfy channel has occasionally (rarely) shown blocks of The Invaders, and I have maybe half of them. They are (of course) cut for more commercial time.

William Windom was also in an episode of Mission Impossible that aired just last evening: The Train, and he will be in The Window sometime early next week.

I'll have to check my disk to get the time. I seriously doubt it's 51:40 though. Not these days of 42 minute programming.wink.gif

If you want a copy of my DVD, I can certainly send you one. The DVD set is available on Amazon for ~$46.

Thanks Luke

I should have told you i bought the 1st Year of the Invaders from columbiahousetv.com
back on 3-6-09. The second a year later 8-11-2010.

My ole KLH dvd player doesn't always read the copy-guard.It's 9 years old now.Made the 1st year for my
brother.Just got Executive action made a print of that.Seven days in may. NO print. The KLH read that one! LOL

Anyway i was in agreement with you about how much they have to cut out to put in a commercial.Put in Doomsday plus one

Sure enough 51:40-Time Length.That's less than 8 1/2 min.for ads.

On these dvd's ,The Invaders, you can watch ALL if you like.

My Sony GX-257 was my dvd recorder from 4-5-2010 to 2-4-2012.That's when the Toshiba DR-430 took over.
It looks better to me.

smile.gif

Also i can highly recommend The Invaders on DVD. It is a Really Good print.Alot of good extras.
Roy Thinnes has his own UFO story.Plus narration if you like.
The Pilot is buried on the last disc of year1.

Year 2 has one problem on ep.43.Bad audio. It could use a Frame X Frame Re-Master
Like Star Trek TOS.

Just to comment, The Wild Wild West just finished its first week or shows in its new daily rotation on METV, rather than the once per week rotation it previously had. It started from the beginning and has so far has been shown in the proper order. My wife commented that IT seens to have held up better than many other shows if its era. The first season was in B&W, and wasn't shown in reruns very often because of that. Too bad, because it has some really good episodes.

I agree.
i always want the 1st or second year.We should feel fortunate because some shows that have survived
go back to like 1957 or earlier like perry mason. The 1st year of that series needs alot of help.I don't know how many filters they used
They left the darker filter on in one episode and the courtroom scene was SO Dark!

I missed last friday's episode of The Wild Wild west.
Did get the first episode with Michael Dunn. The next one is next week.Terror stalked the town!
4 the first year.10 over the series run.

I wish they would go daily with The Fugitive.
In 2008 RTN ran it that way.2 weeks before the Gran Finale--RTN didn't pay it's MGM Bill.

They were off the air for 24hrs. or so.Came back with a completely different line-up.

The Fugitive will be well into next year before the 2 part ending.

www.dvdpricesearch.com

They have it.Wally had it for 24.95 a couple of months ago.Kinda high for 1 volume{season 4 vol.2}

I got sea.2 vol.1 at big lots last year for 10 bucks!

I will probably record 2 years of the wild wild west.

Even if you don't record it to archive, it's plenty fun to watch. Even in the first five shows, the interaction between West and Gordon was really fun to watch. On show shows, it takes the better part of a season to develop.

I agree about Michael Dunn. In the earlier episodes he was a dangerous and menacing enemy. Later they morphed him into a more comic figure, but in these early episodes, he is anything BUT a comic figure!
