Transferring Hi-8 tape content onto a DVD

Hi all,

I've come across 2 bits of footage on 2 different hi-8 tapes (filmed in 1995 from a Sony camcorder) that I'd like to transfer on DVD. I've looked on the Internet how to do it but I'm not sure I fully understand the process (I'm not very techie).

I still have the Sony camcorder (still works perfectly although I no longer use it) and I have a VCR-DVD combi player/recorder as well as audio cables (the red-yellow-white audio (?) cable). To watch my Hi-8 tapes onto my TV, I simply connect the camcorder to the TV via the red-yellow-white & Scart cable (scart goes into TV, the red-yellow-white bit goes into camcorder). So, watching the hi-8 tapes onto my TV is not a problem but how do I record -as simply as possible- hi-8 footage onto a DVD using my DVD recorder? (I have plenty of blank DVD-RW DVDs at home).

Any help on the matter would be much appreciated.
