Game Room Media Speaker + Receiver Recommendations

Just purchased a Benq HT5550 projector for our game room and looking to tie things together by adding some speakers and a receiver .

Budget is $1k or less.

Not looking for wow factors just like to enjoy movie or gaming night with the family . Receiver needs to support 4K.

Rooms measures approx 16'x13' 10"

I cannot mount speakers to the walls since we rent the house so stands would be preferable

If you want an HTiB, then look to Yamaha, Onkyo, or Denon for packages that are receiver and speakers (5.1) only. I would not recommend getting an integrated system, iow, one that has a built in BD player. Typically those systems have a passive subwoofer (it derives its power from the receiver) as opposed to a non-integrated system where the sub is active (has its own amplifier). Ideally, separates is the way to go but you would probably need to decide on a receiver first, then go to the Speakers Forum, mention which receiver you have (or are thinking of) and your price point for speakers and see what the suggestions are.

I never trust an atom, they make up everything.
