Connecting headphones to a home theater in a box

I am looking to get an inexpensive 5.1 home theater. I need to be able to easily connect headphones to the receiver so that I can watch TV, or play console games while the family is asleep. Is this something that's doable? I looked at a few systems, and don't see a 3.5mm audio out on the back of any of them. I plan the have the reciever sit next to the couch, and running a single long HDMI cable to the TV on the opposite side of the room.

Right now, I achieve this with my nVidia Shield by plugging the headphones directly into the controller.

Headphone jacks are always on the front and are usually 1/4". In several HTIB I looked at it's the big hole on the bottom left face plate.
If you don't have headphones with 1/4" plug adapters to 3.5 are easily available. I just bought a headphone extension cable that came with both kinds.

Music, more music.
