You don't tell us what audio out options you have on your TV so its hard to offer specific advice.
If you have an older TV with analog out R/L RCA jacks then you can use the Video Game Console adapter that should have come with the 5.1 system.
If your TV only has digital outputs (Optical/Toslink or COAX) for audio you will need to buy a digital to analog adapter like this
and connect that to the video came console adapter that came with your system.
