Exclamation Sony 6.2 Home theatre, have tried everything...

Hi Guys and Girls

I am new to this forum, in fact it will be the first forum I ever use.

If you could please assist.

I own a Sony home theatre system Model HT-DDW1600

Amp: STR-K1600

Speakers, probably irrelevant at this point but: 2 x standard front tall boys, 1x standard centre, 3 x standard surround (L,C,R), 4 x standard subs (came with 2, i got another 2) essentially now 6.4

...

My problem, i have used this system for 12 years, running on video 2/BD input with AFD set to DD PL IIX. When running it this way it would output DolbyD 3/2.1 which from I understand is 5.1

Sooo recently I must have done something, and the Video 2 Channel shows simply "Video 2/BD", and the back speakers give no audio on any AFD setting... From what I understand BD is Bluray disc.

The above displays whether I use the XBOX 360, LG Smart LED, or Laptop. To clarify, all components are run as inputs to the TV and then via Optical to the Amp/Receiver, it has worked like this for years, but now it doesn't seem to, any advice?

All settings are as they always were on the amp.

Below are the audio system specs for your convenience

It looks like something changed, and since it looks like everything is playing in stereo, perhaps the The TV or system was inadvertently set to stereo mode.
Check the audio output settings of the TV (maybe it was reset or a firmware update was taken that reset the audio) and make sure it's Dolby.
If not, check the receiver. Page 52 of the manual begins the section describing surround settings (Enjoying Surround Sound). Page 57 describes setting it to 2ch stereo.
