This is a forum. I participate here. I know that he has a chip on his shoulder for me and I am trying to ignore him and speak past him to the other members who aren't so controlling of the discussion. Thanks.

Yes this is a forum and I also participate here. If you don't like myself or others challenging your statements then maybe you should not be a member here at AVS. No "chip on my shoulder" at all. If you see my posting history I don't have any issues with anyone else.

The issue I have is that you quite often post information that is totally false and incorrect. When you do this it's quite often as if your thoughts are fact when in reality they are just your opinions. I counter your posts with my thoughts so people can see two sides of the story. You posted in this thread recently about the Talking Heads Remain In Light DVD-A having a -6 dB attenuation in the center channel. That is totally false but you posted like it was fact and not your opinion. I played the Remain In Light DVD-A from start to finish and found there is no issue with the center channel volume level. For some reason you are of the opinion that the vocals are only present in the center channel but in fact they are spread across all three front channels.

But you totally ignored my post and the points that I made. I'm not trying to control any part of these discussions. But I'm not going to sit by and not comment on your posts when quite often the statements you make are false and misleading. I'm not alone in this as some have just taking the smarter route and totally ignore your posts or have you on "ignore" so they don't see your posts. I did have you on "ignore" but saw the your post about the Remain In Light comments as someone else quoted it.

Maybe you should step back and reflect on the fact that you are wrong about this (which you are). Instead of deflecting the discussion to the fact you feel I have a "chip on my shoulder" when in fact that isn't true.

*edited to correct "Remain In The Light" as it's "Remain In Light*

IMO, one who is totally ignoring someone does not post a message to them.

I do have a couple of folks in my ignore list so no interaction at all, Bill is certainly NOT on that very short list.

I totally agree and apologies for taking this fine thread off topic .

Which Fleetwood Mac box sets did you buy? They're all excellent IMO. I especially like Tusk.

Actually, I lied. I only bought two box sets: Fleetwood Mac (self titled, 10th album) and Mirage. Still waiting for a better price for Tusk. Hope they're as good as Rumours, which is one of my favorite surround mixes. Too bad the Tango album box set for some reason doesn't have a 5.1 DVD (only high rez stereo). I wasn't familiar with FM almost at all until a few months ago when I got Rumours and now I'm a fan. Great 70s/80s soft rock. Really interesting band history as well.

Tusk is the one that is the biggest upgrade. The original LP mix was muddy and very oddly compressed and equalized. The LP had a whole lot of distortion, especially at the ends of the sides. The surround mix shows what Buckingham was trying to do with the album. I never realized how diverse it was musically until I heard the surround mix. The pop stuff is fun and pretty, but Tusk is a full blown concept album.

I've watched it before and I enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first time. Clapton seems to be enjoying himself.

LOL NO, just dust

It's not an urn it's a flower vase my mom gave me many years ago, along with a black candle stick on the left side

Mom's ashes were spread on a mountain site as she had requested.

I assume you must like Clapton and I'll be surprised if you're disappointed in this set, although I confess I haven't listened to the CDs yet

I know a common complaint for videos can be too much camera movement, a few seconds here a few seconds there... while there is certainly panning going on, for me it was fine...

Deep Purple - Machine Head on SACD in 5.1
I remember walking home with the vinyl album under my arm right after it was released....then I remember the store floor walker chasing me ‘cause I didn’t pay for it. j/k about that part, but it was pretty cool buying what turned out to be iconic albums like this one, Dark Side, Black Sabbath s/t etc on release day. Also, I’m old apparently. 😉
