I really like the album and the music. Only thing i'm not thrilled with is the surround version. Don't know why they went for a low res Dolby Digital 16 bit/ 48 mix? The stereo 24/48 tracks sound much better to me as far as overall clarity and dynamics. The album "Love, Fear and the Time Machine" (2015) sounded great in MLP lossless 24bit 5.1 surround version.

^^^^ Underwhelmed big time. My setup has no LFE at all when playing this. Put 'Love, Fear, and the Time Machine" in and it was night and day.

Nightwish - Live in Buenos Aires. New release. I can say the PQ is kinda a let down to me for bluray standards. Kinda soft a lot. SQ is good but hear very little from the surrounds, more of an okay than anything

Playing selected works from Joe Bonamassa’s Tour De Force London concerts on blu ray in 5.1. March 2013, 4 concerts on 4 consecutive nights with 4 different bands and 4 different set lists at 4 different venues. I have the first 3, the 4th at RAH being pretty much a ‘greatest hits’ night. The sound is slightly different from the different venues, but it’s pretty much typical blu ray concert fare throughout. PQ is average, not bad but nothing to write home about. I have many of his concerts, but too bad he never delivered us any studio work in MC (that I’m aware of).
1 Live at The Borderline (early songs night)
2 Live at Shepherd’s Bush Empire (blues night)
3 Live at Hammersmith-Apollo (rock night)

Fade Into Light : Boz Scaggs

(DVD)

First playing of this. I'm just doing the 3 DD 5.1 multi-channel live video cuts at this time.

[Edit] ★★★★★ for this Boz fan Soooo, I just ordered the DVD from which these cuts were taken. Boz Scaggs - Greatest Hits Live (2004) Christmas present to myself

[Weird] Since there is a CD side I figured I'd RIP it to my computer SSD using Windows Media Player... I thought I put it in correctly but it started playing the DVD side. Turns out the fine print on the disc says "CD THIS SIDE UP. Well, just focused on "CD" so it went in with the DVD side down and and it started playing the DVD. So I hit the stop icon and pull down the menu with the eject command... Press eject...

This is a slot load drive. It makes the appropriate sounds and I think its about to come sliding out and then it reversed course and started playing the DVD again! Tried 3 or 4 more times to eject it with the same results. I'm freaking out, I'm going to have to physically take the computer apart and see if I can get the disc out of the drive...

Fortunately I remembered I have a never used software program from Corel for playing DVDs and started it and it started playing DVD and after hitting the eject icon several times in a row it finally managed to eject the disk. I put it in an old Panasonic player I have and both sides played and ejected with out issue. I have an external CD drive I'll try later...

Enough for today, I think I'll head out to the Saddle Rack for the evening and forget about computers for a while

It's not particularly adventuresome. Very enveloping, fills the room. A certain amount of discreteness. I enjoy it much more than the stereo versions. It's only $10 on Amazon.

Thanks, I'll buy just about anything at the $10 price point

I assume you already have the MTV Unplugged DVD.

No, I'll have to look into that. I'll be honest, Alice in Chains was just another OK band to me until I got Music Bank. Took them to another level for me. Their music really fits surround sound well.

ETA: Just ordered it from Amazon.
