It's on CD. Amazon product number B000PMFTE0 The Mercury Living Presence albums are unique because they didn't use any compression. They would just burn the peaks into the tape super hot. This recording was done with separate tapes for orchestral and bells and gunfire. At the end of the disc, they play the cannon blasts without the music and it practically knocks the pictures off the walls. There is a huge peak with frequencies below 20Hz- it rattles the house. It's my dogs' least favorite CD. They run out of the room when I play it.

Thanks for the heads up on this version. It came this afternoon and I ran it through at a modest volume because Id like my speakers to be functional. I really enjoyed this version very much. There are several distinctive differences one of those being with the cannons. The ones on my original recording lack bass, they are much more of a mid-range and mid-bass tone rather than this recording, which seems to use the bass drum as well as the cannon. Very satisfying version.

With all due respect to you and your knowledge... I reserve the right to be wrong about what I say and think.

Steven Wilson - Get All You Deserve 24/96 BluRay 5.1
Great live recording with much more active surrounds than the average live recording.
Yes, I'm addicted to Steven, Porcupine Tree, and all the progressive rock recordings he's remastered, specially the 5.1 surround mixes. His recordings typically offer SOTA SQ reflecting the quality of the original mastering.

Elvis Presley ‎– ELV1S 30 #1 Hits
Format: DVD, DVD-Audio, Multichannel, Compilation
https://www.discogs.com/Elvis-Presle...elease/4752849
"The first 18 songs ("A Little Less Conversation" through "Stuck On You") were mixed from the original multi-track master tapes and the last 13 ("A Big Hunk O' Love" through "Heartbreak Hotel") were mixed from the original mono master tapes. Tracks have been mixed and mastered in 5.1 Surround Sound."

in addition to dolby 5.1, this dvd has 96khz mlp audio tracks inside the audio folder of the dvd, but you may have to ferret it out if the dvd fails to put a menu up on the screen... well worth it tho, i did A/B comparisons using foobar2000, vs. the best stereo recordings with/without auro-2D, the sound quality on this dvd is great on most of the tracks, it fills up the room much better.

why care about elvis? i certainly didn't, back in the day i was into uriah heep, foghat, grand funk railroad, and of course dsotm... but a couple of weeks ago i fell into the bo diddley rabbit hole:

a legendary performance by a legendary group, unfortunately ruined by fake screaming and fake audience cutaways :-/ bo diddley was a truck driver who didn't have the talent of little richard, so he created his own bo diddley beat: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...diddley-59117/

which elvis was reputed to have used on "(Marie's The Name) His Latest Flame", the song that led me into digging up a surround sound version of it.

history aside, if your s.o. was old enough to remember listening to elvis on the am radio, you can't go wrong with throwing $10 at this dvd if you don't know what am radio was, well, ymmv

Renaissance Turn of the Cards 96/24 DTS.

The best this album has ever sounded. I hope Esoteric/Cherry Red releases stand alone 5.1 DVDs of the rest of their catalogue. I have been buying the Remastered Box Sets of Renaissance Albums over the past few years always hoping for 5.1. They have finally delivered. Those familiar with this album will finally get to hear " Things I Don't Understand" without Treble induced pain! Most improved SQ of any of the tracks.
