I'm sure it is great to some, but I paid someone[ a forum member here] to do it. I've read some of the tutorials but I just got lost..........

Hehehe, I see! Well, at least you have them ripped now. You should try playing around with it as it is quite easy to set up. Once, I got started, I was ripping in less than 10 minutes and I'm definitely not any king of a computer guru. If you use the GUI method, no teleneting or command line stuff will be required.

Cheers

I had the house to myself for a while.

Decided on Pink Floyd: Divison Bell and settled in with a White Russian, a pitch black room and the Oppo set to a volume of 75.

The music so wonderfully composed, the mix so intense, that by the time I got half way through Poles Apart I think I had an out-of-body experience.

I trimmed the cardboard sleeve a bit to fit in a standard Jewel case.

Nice choice ! Did you copy the Division Bell DVD cardboard packaging for the CD case art work? As a huge fan of Pink Floyd I never owned Division Bell in any format till buying the DVD. It's one of my favorite surround mixes .

Right now I'm listening to On An Island in DTS 5.1 from the DVD that is part of the Live In Gdansk 4 disc edition.

I have that Live in Gdansk set but am still waiting on a blu ray release (as I grow older) Also would like to see Genesis' When In Rome released on BD as well. I know David Gilmour's camp will likely release a BD from his Rattle That Lock tour, but which concert? (one of the US shows, Pompeii, or RAH?) I was hoping to hear something on a release by Christmas...

This morning listening to an old 5.1 favourite, Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms on SACD...

I just took the cardboard sleeve and trimmed a very small amount off the edges in order to fit a standard CD case.

I have CD jewel case template on MS Word that I used to print in color (at work) the spine and back cover, using the stones for the art.

The Division Bell 5.1 mix is on a stand alone DVD and on Blu-ray in the DB Immersion set. As posted in the Division Bell thread the DVD was available from the Pink Floyd store. It's not available now but it's worth checking from time to time.

Pink Floyd - WYWH blu ray 5.1 mix

After recent talk on another thread here about bigger surround speakers (which I already have) I got to thinking that I'd like a little more oomph from mine. I reasoned (rightly or wrongly) that the MCACC for calibrating my Pioneer SC-61 may be set up more for movies than music, ergo their output is lower than people of our ilk would like for their music Anyway, I manually bumped the surrounds up a couple weeks ago and I'm not looking back 👍 This is bringing an all new meaning to Welcome To The Machine!

It wasn't that he dislikes Hypnotic Eye, this was actually his "get lost, I'm trying to take a nap" look which, not so coincidentally, he learned from me.

Speaking of likes and dislikes, I was going through my music purchases I've made over the last few years and have found I rarely ever buy something these days I'm not happy with. Mostly because of forums like this one and learning from all you fine folks what's worth bringing home.

My alma mater, University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) is the number one mens hockey team in America. While watching them play (and beat) the number 13 team I played a combo platter of Five For Fighting: America Town and Godsmack: The Other Side.

Both are really good discs. The Godsmack disc is the standout here. The sound is exceptional and the acoustic presentation is mixed perfectly into 5.1 A+++

I reject your reality and substitute my own.
