Hootie & the Blowfish Cracked Rear View 25th Anniversary box set with DVD-A

In case anyone cares to listen to Hootie's first album in 5.1, the DVD-A (presumably) is being re-released as part of a box set for the 25th anniversary of their debut album's release. Not sure if the DVD-A will be exactly the same, have additional tracks or what, but it is likely the same 5.1 mix that I think is pretty good even though user reviews on QQ are not stellar. Best part is the MSRP is only $40 for 3CD+DVD!

This monumental record is currently the tenth best-selling album of all time in the U.S., certified 21x Platinum by the RIAA since its 1994 debut, as well as the best-selling debut album of all time.

This Deluxe edition is packed with rare recordings including early versions of many of their biggest hits recorded in 1990 and 1991 and only available previously on cassettes sold at their live shows; the band's five-song 1992 Kootchypop EP; and other unreleased and rare studio tracks. It also boasts a live recording of the band's February 3, 1995 concert at Nick's Fat City in Pittsburgh, PA. Recorded just a few weeks afterCracked Rear Viewwas certified Gold, most of the concert has never been released, including performances of "I Go Blind," "Hold My Hand" and a cover of "Love The One You're With."

In the liner notes, Tom Sommer, who signed the band to Atlantic Records in 1993 writes: "On stage, Hootie & the Blowfish really sought to combine the intimacy, sensitivity, and whirling dervish qualities of 1980s R.E.M. with the muscular he-man-ism of Springsteen and the E Street Band ... The Pittsburgh set captures all this rather wonderfully."

Has anyone purchased this? I am surprised that there is no talk concerning the release. Business Insider states it is the 9th best selling album of all time. The Amazon listing is confusing to me. It states the anniversary edition contains 3 CD's, yet scrolling down it shows the content of 4. Price is reasonable.

I got it on release day even though I'm not a big fan but did enjoy the album back in the day, plus it's a decent surround mix and better than the double sided DVD I previously owned. It does have 3 CDs and a DVD (DVD-V, if you care). It's a no brainer at the price IMO.

If anyone's on the fence, it's only $31 (+tax) on Amazon!
