When it's available to pre-order, I'm in!

One of my favorite Beatles' albums. Atmos surround mix should be awesome!

Nice. Giles did a good job on The White Album after his Sgt. Peppers fiasco. Definitely going to get this.

I'm glad that they are doing it in Atmos. Even though I have 5.1, hopefully it will have those dramatic sound from the middle of the room tricks like in Sgt Pepper.

the same old mistakes, charge extra premium for a box set, and treat surround as an extra rather than the main feature. there should be a standalone BR with Atmos, of course everything else could also fit on a single BR disc, including what ever been released digitally of this album before.... but noooo!

I hear you but to be honest, there aren't almost any stand alone surround mixes coming out these days. I usually buy the box set and sell it sans the surround disc on ebay, usually comes out to around $40-50 that way.

You never know! Depeche Mode threw in a 5.1 of Delta Machine on the Live in Berlin box set, so maybe the Beatles will do the same here! Doubtful of course but that would be super cool.

Looks like the packaging spec leaks were legit-- the official announcement was today (finally). It's still not up for preorder on US Amazon yet, but it's up on the Beatles store and some place called "bullmoose" that I've never heard of. I cannot wait for the surround mix and the extended medley!

Yay! Will definitely pick this one up. May have to get the White Album and Sgt Pepper again as I only have the blu-rays from those sets and kind of want the books too now.

Amazon has it posted now but their price for the Super Deluxe edition is considerably more than Bull Moose. So I just pre-ordered it from Bull Moose.

Amazon shipped/sold (as well as prime shipping) by amazon: $109.98 + sales tax.
Bull Moose: $83.97 + $0 sales tax + free delivery.

If @Bill Mac finds a better deal as he usually does, I'll take the appropriate action.

$110+tax seems pretty fair to me, considering what you get. And it's $36 cheaper than what Amazon is selling the White Album SDE for ($146+tax), although it does have less supplemental material (3CD vs 6CD).

Wonder if they'll go back chronologically and do some other classic albums like Revolver and Rubber Soul, rather than Let It Be (which I don't really see them giving the SDE treatment). Hope so...

Let me re-think this...

Amazon $109.98 + 9.25% San Jose CA sales tax = $120.15 delivered. (In your case, Seattle sales tax is even worse at 10.1%),

Bull Moose $83.97 delivered.

Net savings $36.18.

Bull Moose seems even more fair than Amazon. But hey, it's your wallet.

Oh, yeah I didn't even read the part about Bull Moose. That does seem like a good deal even if they are at the other end of the country and may take a week longer to receive it. Maybe I'll cancel my Amazon preorder and get it from Bull Moose instead.

Two other good deals:

ImportCDs at $77.42 + $2.99 shipping + sales tax. If you happen to live in an area with a sales tax < 4.4% (I don't), you can beat the BM price.
https://www.importcds.com/the-beatle...d/602577921124

Deep Discounts if you use the promo code ENDGAME15. $90.63 - $13.59 (using ENDGAME15) + $0 delivery + sales tax. In my case, it totaled $83.20 which is $0.77 cheaper than BM.
https://www.deepdiscount.com/the-bea...d/602577921124

I'll stick with BM for now.

You guys are assuming that Amazon won't drop the price before release. The pre-order price guarantee covers you on that.

If amazon drops trou during pre-order phase, then I cancel BM and place the order with amazon. I've done it before. No biggie.

True, although I think it unlikely that they'll cut the price before release. It may drop later if sales are lackluster (like the Imagine box set).

Also, looks like Bull Moose is up to $89.97 now.

I used the Deep Discount code to preorder for $82.05 total (oddly they charged their local sales tax rate rather than the Seattle/WA rate. I also like how you can use PayPal to do a guest checkout whereas at Bull Moose I had to create an account and use my credit card there to preorder (which was not charged though).

Thanks to kokishin for the price tips.

Yep. BM raised their price $6.00 from yesterday. Happy to get it yesterday at $83.97.

Glad you scored a good deal at Deep Discount. It appears that DD applies the state sales tax (6.5% in WA) instead of the local sales tax (Seattle 10.1%).

I preordered on Amazon last night at the current preorder price of $109.98 hoping for a price drop by ship date. I checked this morning and it shows a price of $83.42 with release date of 9/27.

It'll bounce around daily as they match other E-tailers prices. As long as you don't cancel you'll get the lowest price and refund the day after release.

If you can wait a little to purchase this I expect the price to drop after release. I got the 6 CD White Album from Amazon in December for under $90. There was like a two week window that it sold for that price. It's never been that low again AFAIK. I'm looking forward to this one just as much as the White Album.
