I miss JGH. He wasn’t afraid to think out of the box, but couldn’t make a dent in the audiophile mindset, which this review refers to.
I remember he also lobbied for some equipment to include properly designed tone controls. He realized it was impossible to maintain “the absolute sound” in a world where too many recordings were mastered poorly and too many rooms were impossible to tune perfectly.
That also went over like a lead baloon.
