Pearl Jam - New Studio Album "Gigaton" in Dolby Atmos!

Pearl Jam's new studio album Gigaton is being released in Dolby Atmos for streaming on Apple TV for a week FREE!

I've had a chance to watch and listen to it twice now and it sounds very nice in surround. The Dolby Atmos audio while not being overly active does add to the surround mix, IMO.

If you have a 4K TV the video is in Dolby Vision as well. Check it and see what you think!

Unfortunately since it's being released by Universal Music Group I'm not getting my hopes up that this will be coming out as a Blu-Ray Audio with Dolby Atmos.

For most of you surround fans you already know this is the same company that brought you High Fidelity Pure Audio Blu-Ray's and we know how well that went.

One can still hope that maybe Univeral Music Group will start releasing music in Dolby Atmos and get it right this time!

You can read all about it below.

Sounds pretty good in atmos. I really hope they have an official 4K hi res release, think it can sound even better.

^^^Agreed^^^

The Atmos mix is good and the videos are nice too...it's like having a virtual screensaver during playback.

If this ever comes out on Ultra BluRay 4K with uncompressed, hi rez music, it's an instant buy for me.

I've been listening to this album on Tidal Masters this weekend and the 96khz (unfolded) version sounds better on my system, through speakers and on headphones. I appreciate this Atmos release, but it seems very compressed compared to listening on Tidal.
