Herbert Grönemeyer - Mensch Blu-Ray Audio in Dolby Atmos!

Germany‘s best-selling album for the first time on audio Blu-ray including the concert video „Mensch – Live“ from the Arena AufSchalke (2003) – remastered in HD and Dolby Atmos

„Mensch“ was first published in 2002 and was Herbert Grönemeyer’s most successful publication to date. With more than 3.1 million copies sold, it is the best-selling German album to date and reached platinum status before the release due to a high number of pre-orders.

„Mensch“ was recorded in Mayfair Studios with his longtime producer Alex Silva in Herbert Grönemeyer’s then adopted home of London.

Herbert Grönemeyer produces his albums in the best possible recording quality. „Mensch“ was released in 2002 in high-resolution quality sound on SACD. The hi-res recordings were the basis for this studio edition with a 24Bit and 96kHz encoding. In addition to the stereo mix there is also a 5.1 surround mix included. This also served as the basis for the Dolby Atmos mastering of the album.

The playback of these sound formats are made possible by the Pure Audio Blu-ray, a format developed for music playback on Blu-ray Disc. The format is playable on any commercially available Blu-ray player, including corresponding game consoles with Blu-ray drives.

For the first time, “Mensch – Live” will be released on Blu-ray, a recording of the two-day concert in 2003 from the AufSchalke arena during his then tour „Alles Gute von Gestern bis Mensch“. Grönemeyer’s classics such as “Bochum”, “Männer”, “Flugzeuge im Bauch” and “Mensch” are some of the favourites and it ends in a brilliant „Currywurst“.

The concert was performed in front of more than 65,000 fans, characterized by great emotions, even if the recording technology of the time was not that of today´s video production quality. The concert recording is also in stereo; 5.1 surround sound and for the first time in Dolby Atmos.

The studio album and live concert were remastered for this Blu-ray Disc edition. The hybrid SACD from 2002 with stereo and 5.1 surround sound formats also became an historical document of the time of these creative years and were reissued and added to the studio & home theater edition.
