Not exactly new releases, but that works just fine for me.
Some of the best discs are not new releases
You picked up some great discs!!

It was not released on SACD in the US. Only Europe, and maybe in Asia.

Quote:
Sony Music officials indicated that the change in plans was due to «publishing issues» encountered in the U.S. market. This involves the question of whether a high resolution audio disc with three separate versions of the same material (in this case CD Stereo, SACD Stereo and SACD Surround Sound) requires the payment of one «mechanical usage fee» or several to the music publisher of the material on the album.

Wow, now I am even more excited to receive this disk. I find all of her disks so well recorded and typically for me I always use MCH disks to show off the sound, however I sometimes include Modern Cool or Smash as a 2CH disk in there...looking forward to putting Verse on repeat for a couple of days!

I'm listening to the Verse SACD as I type. Incredible bass! I'm using XLR analog out of the 205 to a Wyred 4 Sound STP-SE preamp so no subs in play. Sounds excellent !

Just ordered The Guess Who - Rockin’ and The Best of Vol.2 from D-V on SACD

Hoping this is better than the Vol.1 quad SACD from AF, one of my least favourite MC mixes unfortunately.

I just got the Cassandra Wilson Traveling Miles DVD-A and unfortunately the MLP 5.1 mix is screwed up ! I'm listening to it and the vocals are prominent in the right rear channel. Then I searched for ratings on the QQ forum and sure enough others have commented that there's issues. The DTS 5.1 mix sounds great though. So it's not a total loss.

Keating is mainstream pop music. However, if you notice the narrow hinges of the Super Jewel Case, it is pop music of the early 2000's.

The Vanessa Fernandez SACD is an album of Led Zeppelin covers done with acoustic instruments. Tim Pierce (guitar), Jim Keltner (drums), and Jim Cox (keyboards) are some of the notable musicians on the SACD.

Btw, the most expensive disc among the four was the Keating SACD because it is an early SACD title. The two Dutton Vocalion titles and the Vanessa Fernandez SACD are new SACDs and about US$15.00/each (I ordered the Dutton Vocalion SACDs directly from their UK website).

@Bill Mac ...

Received my new Patricia Barber Verse disc today and wanted to let you know that it is an incredible sounding disc and perhaps her best recorded one as well!

I discovered her because of you and her music is among my favourites now! Thank you!

So glad to hear you like the Verse SACD! All of the Patricia Barber SACDs sound excellent and are well worth seeking out. The new "unmastered" Cafe' Blue SACD sounds excellent as well. I like it better than the MFSL SACD which is hard to find and quite expensive. I wish MOFI would reissue all of her SACDs so everyone would have a chance to get them at sane prices. Enjoy !
