Perhaps I jumped the gun on coming to conclusions but basically none of my questions were answered. I have opened up a follow up dialogue and will try to give it another shot. Thanks for validating their service quality. I will go to the location and discuss more in person. Dealing with local businesses is always my preference.

Anyone know how the FV18 stacks up against the PB16? I'm guessing the PB would best the FV at maybe 18-25hz and the FV would win everywhere else? The cabinets are about as close to the same exact size as you can get, the SVS cabinet is less than 1% bigger. I was just curious about this, I already have my FV18's on order as I've said in a previous post. 😁

I do not see a lot of posts on the FV25HP for HT use, so appreciate any feedback for these. Just curious if I should have held out for the new PSA ipal offerings or JTRs and unload the Rythmiks and get on the PSA wait list.
I have a pair of FV25s in my dedicated theater. I am about 70-30 Movies. My room is about 3400 cubic feet and on carpet over concrete slab. They are fantastic subs. Even on concrete they give me the perfect blend of refinement and feel. I'll be honest...I am not one to be wowed by, or want, a sub that shakes my house. That just isn't for me. The pair of 25s give plenty of feel when necessary in my opinion without sacrificing audio quality.

Most normal people buy a sub and keep it for years. That is unless your like about 3 of us here that change or seek more every 3 to 6 months my point being is most of have bought alot of subs and settle on rythmik for the quality and performance of there subs. The customer is the added cherry on top. I myself am waiting for these new 18" next year. You wont have any remorse with the sub, especially if you can save on shipping.

The reason is the most vocal members here don't have the FV25HP. A lot of people want to stay under $4000 for dual.

If you didn't have the FV25HPs already, it can be argued that you will get more of this with sub A and more of that with sub B. It would cost you $1000+ to switch to something else now that may not provide what you were looking for.

You can't hurt the value of FV25HPs if you open them up and use them.

I had the FV25HP with me for about 2 weeks. It is a very good sub.

I agree, would rather trade a bit of output for a nice clean sound. Definitely not going for the loose license plate with monster subs in the trunk kind of sound for my house home theater.

the fv25hp is an awesome sub. its a top 10 sub on databass review site and thats dual 15's in a reasonable box size. if I was to criticize it I would say its distortion is too low, amp too small, and spl in my case drops off alot past 80hz(when I tried 120hz xover). also I would prefer a sub to be able to have same output at 12hz as it does at 120hz and for the cone movement to look crazy impressive with excursion and big fat cone surround for looks so I could take off the grill and just stare at em wobble

However, Im not criticizing the fv25hp. it sounds awesome for music(which is 90% of what I use it for) and blends with my focals and maggies just perfect. for movies due to my open 1st floor(20k cuft) one fv25hp just barely works and thats with my fv15hp also. I have been into stereo systems for 35 yrs. my competition car stereo hits over 150db with dual 12's in 4cuft box I designed/built myself powered by 3000 watts and has won a few competitions back in the day.

Rythmik does not have a "sales team". Just people who have passion and pride in what they do.

I can state that once you're in the family, they will support you with responsive, personal, tailored service until you are satisfied. In fact, both Brian and Enrico have been known to help people deliver, unbox and set up their new gems personally.

What was it about your communication with them that was not up to expectations?

I bought PSA MTM210Ts, 210C, 110s for the rest of my HT setup but at that time his sub options did not have enough LFE compared to the others, so got all his speakers but the subs. I knew he had the new Ipal series coming out, but they were pre-order only at that time and I was told late Nov/Early Dec to get them if I got on the list then. At that time I was about 2 weeks out from my HT room being done in our new house. However, or remodel pushed me back a month+ so if I would have got on the pre-order list for the Ipals, I would have them about now, when my room is finally ready for speakers. So, was just debating sending the Rythmiks back and getting the Ipals to have all PSA since PSA is close to being caught up on their shipping, but now think I will just run the FV25s. I am sure they will be great. Still though, I wish I would have got the FV18 paper cones instead due to the size of my room. It would cost me about $120 to ship both subs back to Rythmik, which is not bad, and save me about $1K to switch to the FV18s. It is my understanding that the paper cone may be a bit better for HT, but that is just from reading on here.

Ah yes, understandable. I too am curious about the new ipal subs but from the sound descriptions I’ve read I’m thinking they will sound similar to the Rythmiks. I can’t say for sure but I am assuming.

There is a fellow AVS’r that lives nearby me that has a pair of the TV42’s on order. Hopefully I can get a demo of them in the coming months.

As someone who has owned a few subs this is unusual to hear about this company. They have some of the best customer service I have experienced in any consumer electronic purchase. I have spent over 10k there in the last year and I will be buying their next dual opposed when it is finished without hesitation (if it fits my space). Keep in mind that $1200 for a sub purchase is most likely how you will start....before you know it...DUALS!

Add +3db above 40Hz to the data-bass FV18 numbers to get the max output of the rev2 paper cone version (per Rythmik).

Since I am very familiar with the Rythmik sound, I would be very interested in knowing the differences. Of course it goes without saying a valid comparison is to have both subs in the same location for testing since the room looms large over the results.

More likely. Chucky7’s output chart above has db numbers from two different sources, so the comparison is not quite valid IMO, I would not bank on them. For some, output seems to be the only variable when shopping for sub. For me, shopping for subs at this caliber, output is the last thing I care about.

@zambine has a pair of paper cone FV18’s and I believe he ordered the sealed dual opposed NEO 15’s from psa (S3012?). Hopefully, he can tell us what he finds comparing the SQ. Not apple to apple, ported vs sealed but at least we get some idea.

Exactly. I don't drag race my subs. I use them to fill out my system and make it complete and enjoyable. To me that means perfect integration, very tight, and very detailed.

It will help in that, if he says for example the PSA is still less damped-sounding than the FV18 w/paper cone set to high damping, it wouldn't hold a candle to the sound of a sealed metal-driver Rythmik. So wherever it ends up, helps us place it on the subwoofer spectrum. Note that was only an example.

How long do Rythmik subs usually take to ship? I'm guessing I have to wait longer because I ordered paper cone version.

We got the container delivered yesterday. We are working on full capacity in order to ship all pending orders by the end of the week. Most UPS Freight shipments (big subwoofers) should go out this Friday.

They'll also email tracking, so you can be pretty sure that they will physically be on their way later the same day.

You should invite yourself over to his house and give it a listen as well. He is not that far from you.

I would be glad to have a fellow AVSer over for a listen. I'm in North Fort Worth if anyone ever wants a demo.

I just took delivery of my dual PSA S3012s this afternoon! Can't wait to see how they pair with my FV18s.
