Oh yes, she's definitely cool to allow this much audio gear in a shared space; that's a pair of V1800 in the back that flank the couch and dual V1801 in the front. I love the way it looks, and people don't have to ask me what my hobbies are when they come over, lol. Now that we're having another boy, she said she's making my office and the master bedroom into a super feminine retreat, and that's an awesome trade off for a spectacular home theater. šŸ˜ƒ

Hahaha that's awesome. Congrats on the incoming basshead!

That's a very reasonable compromise. Well played! šŸ˜‰

My planned riser is about 36" deep in the last row. Maybe I'll just hide a S7201 firing upward inside the riser. "What sub honey? I don't see any subs in here."

Lol. I recently carried a Cap 1400 upstairs and was sick to my stomach afterwards. The adrenaline helped me get it there.

I was originally going to get 2 3601's and trade in the 1801's , just made sense to hold off for a bit with all the work going on in the house... I may go that route or maybe try and run 4 1801's , 1 in each corner...Trying to get thru the re-model first , just got the dreaded "There's mold" call...

I'm actually going to do measurements when I get back from vacation - might try to use this under my tv. Which would be under my 210C between the 210T

Oh man. Yeah, better hold off till you take care of the mold situation. Depending on how bad it is and what strain it is, remediation gets expensive šŸ˜’

You must be referring to @iceatola . I agree that the V1801 is about the biggest most married guys can get into a living room without hiding it. I am very curious how everything transpired.

What I know:

Wife was not feeling dual 15Vs, told him to go down to one sub.

V1801 was as big as he could go. She loved the sound & feel of the V1801 and authorized the future purchase of a second.

Pre-order placed for S7201. WTF just happened!?!?
@iceatola what's the full story? I'm anxious to hear everything that transpired.

I'm thinking that removing the drivers from the S7201 would lessen the weight by at least 150 - 200 lbs. The enclosure would then be manageable with one person sliding it up stairs in the box with a rope while someone was pushing from the bottom...

I'm trying to work out a plethora of issues with getting the S7201... Finances, weight, selling/trading my two XV15se subs, placement.

Oh okay... I gotcha.

It's definitely big. But I think I need to break out a measuring tape and start measuring what the dimensions of this subwoofer actually look like because I think I'm underestimating in my mind just how big this thing is.

You might save some money by having PSA just send you 7201 cab with no drivers or amp. It's not like you are going to use it anyway.

I'm just joking btw.

Jim, I really would like to have just one big sub to worry about, I think the 7201 would be perfect for me. My third V1801 is just a smoothing sub right now, two of them do all I need in my room, seriously. I'm easily reference capable down to about 17Hz with just the two, I think one 7200 would do that with no problem and it would look nice at doing it. I won't try and hide it either..........

I did something last night that surprised me,, I ran an Audy calibration and left all sub trims where Audy set them and watched a movie, I was impressed with the amount of bass without any boosting, just sounded like everything was coming from the LCR speakers and made them sound huge...............

I'm trying to work out a plethora of issues with getting the S7201... Finances, weight, selling/trading my two XV15se subs, placement.
I think the drivers are closer to 30lbs each. You definitely need help moving this upstairs (3 people minimum?). I have some physical disabilities which made me shy away from the Rythmik F25 a while back (I need to be able to move the subs around the room on my own). For this reason I personally would have to go with stacking S3601s over the S7201. Changing the orientation of thr S7201s would also cause me problems. I do like that it is pre-threaded for either orientation.

I do wish that is was a bit wider with less depth. 3' of depth isbaMaybe even a bit taller (most loveseats are at least 5' wide) . I think it would make in-room or nearfield placement (couch table) easier.

Its bigger than you think....the pics on website can fool you....its bigger than cap 4000. About same depth and width (+- few inches) but 15 inches longer if you compare both laying on its side.
