The SVS blew within 30 days and the rubber on the sub was soft. Not the PSA! I am looking forward to tuning them this week and running some REW tests. I can see why Tom is the best in the business and it really does pay to have an american made product because the QC is much better.

If you are considering PSA go for it.

I actually decided to place an order for a pair of V1510's last night after an email exchange with Tom. He could have upsold me on the V1811 (the reason I emailed him) and said for my room it would have been overkill. (Which has its own value, yes.)

World class act there.

I am so excited. I can't wait!

I spent maybe 30 min with them but then had to go back to work. I played a few of my favorite songs and I am super impressed and I am sure you will be as well with your 15's.

They will definitely be going down on their sides. I have my speaker set up with the proper location and the subs will just slide in. I’ts gonna look really nice. I get to get rid of that entertainment center in the middle which I know screws up some of my imaging of my main speakers. I’m probably just gonna throw that entertainment center downstairs and possibly look for a sealed PSA sub for downstairs and a moderately cheap pair of bookshelf speakers. I decided against getting the PSA speakers however, these klipsch ones just sound too good unless there driven hard, really hard. I just can’t justify the price at this time.
I took my two sub offers that I have now and put them end to end in a similar configuration to what the other subs will look like, Albeit not quite as stretched across the room, actually more in the center, which is supposed to be a no-no but Audyssey did a really nice job and I am plus or - 3.5 from 10 cycles to well passed 100. A lot of it is because that front stage is pretty narrow and I get the corner boundary affect pretty much anywhere on that wall. It’s gonna look pretty sweet and if anything, less cluttered which is another goal.
Edit: something that happens to me at my house and I’m curious if others experience this as well, when I move my main speakers away from the wall more, my frequency response in the mid and upper range is not as good. It sounds more spacious however, but it certainly does not measure the same. We all know how the measurements are versus how things actually sound though...

2 V3600 to 2 CAPs then to nothing for 2 months. Man you know how to torture yourself

On the flip side, after all this time and the adjustment to your internal reference level perception you may be able to get by with 2 of the possible dual opposing 10"

Dual S3000i.

I got lucky that the symmetrical placement for L/R speaker stands worked out.

This is of course after many weekends of REW tweaking delays, levels, room size on each sub and flexibility of Anthem ARC in a MRX510 receiver. The much higher priced Anthem pre/pros have more processing power and more filters available.

I will say they I and others have questioned the bump in the lower end but that has been there on any sweeps I have ever done. Must be room related. It is not a closed room.

In reality, the right placement isnt as good as the left but combined they work out AND I am not using the best placement spot in the room which as where my single XS30 was prior to going to dual.

Yes its been tough for sure. But just think how much I'm going to appreciate great bass again. I had taken it for granted before but now I'll be going from nothing to dual TV36-Neos. That should be like going from sitting in a parked car to hitting warp 9... all within a nano second.

Enjoy your new sub!

I had a very similar experience with Tom on chat for a previous V1800 and very recently for a S1510df. Such a good buying experience, it really is no wonder that people keep coming back for more PSA.

And my wife is still asking me if the new sub is what is making the couch in our BR shake while watching TV & Netflix

I have never heard a PSA sub actually, but I am shocked that 2 dual 15" opposed sealed subs can generate more DB's than Dual JTR Cap4000's at 10hz? Is this for real? It's actually more than 3 JTR 4000's. 108+6+3 = 117 according to data-bass. My room really sucks, I have much bigger subs and I get no where near those numbers. I honestly had no idea room gain can be that substantial. What does that sound/feel like?

In all reality, there are times I think I could use more but maybe that's lack or source material. I really have to try BEQ.

Frankly, I was more focused on the getting the response and not so much on headroom as I always figured that the open room would need more than 2 S3000i. And as I said, sometimes I still do.

Now I am wondering if there was a setting in REW that may have been off that may have affected db level? But, I have always had a bump on the bottom end from every sweep I have ever taken in this room.

Anthem ARC EQ's down to 15hz and that is right were it begins to rise below that point.

Edit: You can replace that end table with a 3rd S3000I and call it a day. Get the S3000I in Cherry or another color so it passes as a new end table for Mother's Day or a Birthday present

Basically what Mike Butny posted:

The subs fire into 3 solid surfaces.

The longest room dimension is limited by the half wall so there is plenty of pressure vessel gain.

I have measured 115dB @ 10Hz in my 22.25" * 14.25" * 7.5" family room. But of course since it's just 1 Cap 4000ULF, my FR is not as smooth as his with 2 subs.

Ive thought the same thing but somehow wouldn't fly for Mothers Day or her B'day present

Actually one of the best spots is where the dog bed is which is where my single XS30 was. Also where I tested a single S3000i before trying the two as speaker stands. We watched Interstellar with the single S3000i at the dog bed position and man did that show the difference from the XS30.

In hindsight, I should have kept the XS30 for nearfield instead of trading it.

I have measured 115dB @ 10Hz in my 22.25" * 14.25" * 7.5" family room. But of course since it's just 1 Cap 4000ULF, my FR is not as smooth as his with 2 subs.
That's exactly where the mic is and where I sit

It took several weekends of trial and error on tweaking to finally get the response I was hoping for. Actually this was better than I had hoped for.

I honestly had no idea room gain can be that substantial. What does that sound/feel like?

Greg
I'm above reference to 10(and below) with two sealed 18's with 19mm rated xmax. S3000i might have more displacement with its dual 15's than one of my 18's.

Man that's awesome. Incredible bass without breaking the bank. You and your room proves that the room is every bit as important as the subs... maybe even more so. And I know how sweet that bass sounds coming from your subs because those PSA sealed subs have a wonderful sound signature (IMHO). You my friend have it made... sit back and keep enjoying.

Oh... those pics and reviews are coming. I just need to get those subs in my house and then once I get my bass withdrawal tremors to stop I'll be happy to write up a review.

I wish.......

The S3601 makes an absolutely perfect end table! I actually had the S3000i there for a bit , but it being a little smaller just didnt quite have the Fung Shui that the 3601 does.

Oh man! I definitely need two of those near-field as end tables to even out the bass response from my corner loaded S7201.

Welp, got my V1811s sold (meeting an AVS member with them next week) and the V1510DF are listed for sale as well. Hopefully there aren't too many delays on TV36, don't know how long I can live with 'just' two subs
