Welcome to PSA! Yes some of us are a bit crazy in here , but to rest of the normal population having 2 15" subs in your considered crazy as well! Good thing about PSA is that they make it pretty easy to get crazier with subs if you so desire!!

I feel the same. I just joined the club with an S3000i and an S3600i but it feels a bit inadequate next to the subs being discussed here.
How are you enjoying the S1510s?

I’m already pushin’ it with the WAF haha. My room is only 13x15x8 so these two little bad boys should do the trick. For now.

No idea yet. I have brand new 5.2.4 worth of gear just collecting dust in another room waiting for the custom installer to come. But once its all done I’ll be sure to report back!

Be sure to check out BEQ when you have them up and running, assuming you have the capability to do it.
I did my first one last weekend, very impressed so far.

What subs do you have now? The BOSS platform may be all you need. It was the single biggest change I made to my system (included adding $10k in subs).

I hadn't even looked at subs for a while so I wasn't familiar with PSA at all, I had been very happy with my Velodyne DD15 in the cinema. Then I upgraded my speakers in the living room to B&W 805s and needed some bottom end. Rather than spend £1k on 2 x 12" subs and a minidsp or antimode, I figured I'd replace the DD with something different (the S3000i) and move the DD into the living room. The DD has built in EQ so the cost was about the same, and I get a better living room set-up and an upgrade in the cinema.

Full disclosure, cinema is a bit of a grand term, it's a dedicated upstairs spare bedroom - 12' x 8' x 8'.

And then when I heard the S3000 I figured: I want more of that please, so I spoke to the UK dealer who hooked me up with someone selling their S3600, so now I have three subs in two rooms.

I got two S3000i up front and it's older sibling the XS-30se behind and to left of my seat. It seems to play best there for the most even response across all three seats.

TV: LG OLED 65B7A, Receiver: Marantz SR-6012, Blu-Ray Player: LG UBK90, Fronts: JBL S312, Center: JBL S-Center, Surrounds: JBL S38, Top: JBL S36 (4), Subwoofer: 2 PSA S3000i and one PSA XS-30se--- 5.3.4 setup

^Fixed it

No worries talking about PSA subs no matter the model; we’re all rocking something different, and the vast majority of PSA customers aren’t getting the new TV36’s. As mentioned, a pair of 15” subs in any setup is nothing to sneeze at!

There’s still a place for being content with what you have. Although a new beastly product line is exciting and may provoke upgrade-itis, if those subs are desirable, we can live vicariously through those that do.

Looking forward to your pics and impressions!

Single XV15SE right now, I was hoping another vented 15" of some model would turn up to go dual. I was also thinking about an S36XX of some sort (and selling the XV) but my practical side and knowing what I could sell the wife on ruled that out. Maybe someday. I have a suspicion that my taste will end up preferring going sealed at some point (based on past history), but that experiment will have to wait until likely after my kids get through college (which is many years down the road). I've always been limited budget so doing the best I can on a shoestring is always my goal.

The single XV15 is right next to the loveseat so that position gets some TR but at the expense of viewing angle. Aquaman was a hoot from that spot. The couch has the viewing angle and is in the sweetspot for sound, but we are on a concrete slab so it doesn't get any TR. I use the XV15 as an end table so the plan was get a 2nd 15" and use it as the other end table so it would be nearfield with the couch (emulating basshead ).

My space is my living room so an actual riser is a no go so if I do the BOSS, it has to mount direct to the frame. That is pretty much my only option right now as I have a driver I can use so it would end up being just getting a small piece of plywood and putting the work in.

Mounting to the frame should work well if you get the isolators.

I built the mini riser and finished it in black. It raised the couch about 2 inches but you can’t even see the riser. It is in my game room though. I have though about doing direct mounts in my living room couch.

That's a great list!

For me, top 3 for setting up /demoing surrounds are

Lone Survivor - pretty much the whole hillside fire fight

The Force Awakens - when Rey and Finn steal the Millennium Falcon and are chased by the Tie Fighters

The Hurt Locker - .50cal/desert sniper scene

+

The Dolby Atmos "Amaze"demo with the bird flying around the room is also great

Emailed Tom yesterday. I was number 7 on the list and my subs are scheduled to be built and QC'ed by Tues-Thurs of next week if all things go as planned and then he has to schedule a time to pick up/drop off. He stated that he is building the subs in groups of 4. I think itll be another week after that until my 2nd one is completed.

I absolutely will have to reschedule my GTG which was planned on the 15th of June until another time this summer.

That's all I have for now.

My space is my living room so an actual riser is a no go so if I do the BOSS, it has to mount direct to the frame. That is pretty much my only option right now as I have a driver I can use so it would end up being just getting a small piece of plywood and putting the work in.

This is the beauty of the XV15, 15v, V1510df is the flexibility on placement. While nobody oooo's and aaaaahhh's over the 15" subs these days, its still important to remember that room and placement options are key players to good subwoofer performance. A select few would likely pump your likes up by ordering a TV36, but the reality is a pair of properly placed 15" subs can get you better performance overall if you can not properly place the TV36. And that is always a drawback of really large subs in small or average living rooms that need to retain some sort of WAF.

That's great, I'm glad you joined us and congratulations on your nice set of subs. Those 15" PSA subwoofers are great subs with a beautiful sound signature, I started with a XV15 five and a half years ago... and now look at my addiction.
