I guess powerful low distortion subwoofer drivers combined with HE speaker drivers will take music to a whole new level.

2. I detect zero localization with these subs. I never thought my other subs had it but I could tell the subs were behind me and not in front sometimes. The 2400ULF had a bit more localization than the V3601 but none of them were bad. But with the same set up the TV36 iPals have no localization. The bass just comes from everywhere all at once. Thus the feeling of immersion.

It sounds as if the ipals have such good mid bass (and less localization) that it might be worth wild experimenting running the crossover at 100 Hz or higher. Have you tried this yet? Once I get mine, I'm going to give this a try as I am currently running my crossover at 80 Hz with my MTM 210's. My thinking is that since the ipals are sooooo good at mid base, it might improve overall performance if I sent a little more mid bass to them instead of my speakers.

Hop, refresh my memory with your sub placement options. Are 1 sub in front and 1 sub in the back not an option?

I was referring to the TV36 standard vs V3611 not the IPAL or NEO.

Off topic but can anyone point me in the right direction (link or page) on how to time-align my subs using REW, and how to integrate my Center to my subs (would this be the sub distance tweak?). Thank you.

Btw, reading Hops impression of his new subs and reading almost all of @eng-399 's 4 21" Neo build thread for the last 3 hours really gives me a good understanding of why and how these iPals sound and perform so good!

I'm excited for all of you getting your new TV36's!!

Geo, look at the REW guide for impulse response to help with sub time alignment. The center with subs is the sub distance tweak.

A lot of that is the setup...proper placement, eq, and time alignment. The previous drivers are still efficient up top and work well crossed up around 100hz. You might just need to lower the sub lever if you cross higher and add a house curve to get some of the bottom end back up.

Well, I moved the rear TV36 ipal away from the side wall by ~4 feet, and the null at 48 Hz is down to -10 dB instead of -30 dB, so that's great. Tonight I'm going to turn the sub around to bring the drivers another two feet from the wall, hopefully that fixes it entirely. I don't really have many placement options if that doesn't work, so hopefully that does the trick.

Lower frequencies do sound amazing on these subs, I'm just missing some punch in the crossover region, purely from placement issues I'm sure. I might have to cross over at 60 Hz, there is a HUGE null or cancellation going on at 90 Hz. Output is great at 80, then it just completely and audibly goes off a cliff, like -40 dB at 90 Hz. We'll see once I turn the back sub. I might also turn the front sub to fire into the corner to see if that helps, right now it's amp-side first in the front left corner.

I would post this in the REW thread, using the center to integrate with subs at crossover the SDT is reco'd even with mains depending on your listening preference music/HT....time alignment is also discussed in the REW thread depending what you want to achieve.

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/91-au...raphs-854.html

good luck you could post graphs here as well some will be able to help with what you want to do.

IIRC, (edit to five..)Five of the 18Ipal versions will be shipping with the 36base today. We'll begin another 4 before leaving tonight for shipping later this week. I believe one or two of those four will be the first "neo" option. They look pretty much identical to the 18ipal from the outside but I'll get pictures anyway..

I know they will look identical but it’s exciting to potentially see my standard Neo’s on the forum. Better than checking my email every couple hours hoping to see a shipping notification

Thank you @SBuger and thank you to all you well wishers. It's been a long four months going back to early February when I first ordered the 2400ULFs and things didn't go as planned. Bad amps, mom took a fall and was hurt etc etc. So I shut down the HT and it went black for over three and half months. But my moms recovered, the HT is up and running again and I am back in business. And trust me when I say the HT really sounds far far better than it ever has in the past. So everything worked out for the best.

AHHHHHHH..... I can't tell you guys how good it feels to be down there watching movies lost in awesome audio again.

I’m considering adding a pair of PSA’s smallest subs to my new condo setup, but there are some issues.
I’ve been in contact with Tom, and he helpfully suggested nearfield placement would mitigate at least some of the problems with disturbing neighbors (I’ll be on a suspended floor in the second storey). I think I can solve the outlet problem, but running a sub out wire is an issue (also for the Crowson’s I plan to install). I know there are wireless sub kits (I think SVS sells one). Would lag be an issue with these wireless options? Can anyone make any wireless sub recommendations? Anyone have any thoughts about all of this?

I know @basshead81 use to run a wireless set up. I think it was Rocket Fish and he said he liked it. He may Chime in on it.

Sooooooooo..... Are those things you're testing out to see what they could evolve into?

I have a Rocketfish that I bought about 5 years ago when we moved to the new house. Wood floors made it impossible to run wire (well, I could, but didn't want to have exposed wires on the floor). It works fine. Added a second sub and bought another Rocketfish just last year. This one was awful. It would constantly thump about every 3 or 4 minutes. Took it out of the setup and bought the SVS model from Crutchfield (I had points). Works great and no problem at all. I'd go with the SVS. And no lag on either one. I still have the Rocketfish if you are interested in it. Was well past the return date so there wasn't much I could do with it.

I had a pair of the SVS to run 2 subs in my bedroom. I could never get them to work. The distance Audyssey set between the 2 subs was too large, I had to use cables instead.
