I just showed that to my wife and tried to say I didn’t like the gap between the subwoofers and the screen as is. It make it seem like the screen is floating and going to fall. I would feel more comfortable if the screen was sitting on top of the subwoofers instead. These new subs would fill that void.

She wasn’t buying it

That was me. You are looking at the outer diameter. Focus on the inner diameter only. The 6" port has a much larger flare making it look twice the size.

I dunno, I was looking at the ID and it still looked about double. I wonder if it's a 7" or 8" port for the 21" version.

4 inch port flare next to the 8 inch port flare we're trying on the dual 21

Wow... You know what? I thought I would be immune to any temptation by the Uber Sub because I'm so happy with the TV36. But I was wrong... I kind of want one.

This one may never see production. At SOME point...too much really is "too much". And not too much too soon in the cool glam rock New York Dolls sense. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMR4n...DRrMCD&index=7 ) Just...too much. Too big, too heavy, costing increases more than value or at least perceived value to the large majority of potential customers.

And where do we stop? Dual 21? Why not quad ipal18? Quad ipal18? Why not quad ipal21? When one of the first engineering considerations is "okay, what fits through a standard USA doorway?" I dunno, MAYBE let's just take a step back. No I was wrong, a step forward...

@ahblaza I don't know what the final version of the Uber Sub will be but I know you plan on getting one, and based on what the TV36 does I think it is safe to say you will be blown away (perhaps literally) by whatever it is Tom's creating in his laboratory. Better up your house insurance.

I’m watching this horrible movie called ‘mega shark vs mecha shark’ because my daughter wanted to watch something silly and this lady is piloting a mechanical shark/submarine. At one point it is attacked and she reaches down and turns a knob - maybe for more bass??

LOL, good catch for sub amp

There is a reason those movies are so much watch for many, there are so bad. That they are enjoyable to watch.
As been so silly with such a low budget, that you stay tune
Myself included a few times on TV

24w - 28d - 56h

8 inch flared - tune is like 14.5 or so.

amp changes every few hours as I'm trying to convince myself this isn't just a silly exercise in excess.

I haven't even popped in a movie yet. Just all music. And not "bass I luv test tones" clipped off of youtube.

Real music.

I admit, it's difficult not to enjoy.

Everything about this would be a real pain. The logistics, the engineering investment/ROI the inventory hits, the sheer size and weight when moving them to the spray booth, finishing them properly, moving them to the shop, assembly, boxing...ugh. None of it really makes much sense commercially.

LOL! I wonder what the thought process was on building props. "It says BASH on it and has knobs and switches. And it says BASH on it!"

Well as much fun as eaves dropping on all this Uber Sub talk is, I have to say I’m more excited about the new entry level (12”?) subwoofer that’s coming. My base budget is somewhere around the $1,000 mark and I think I would rather have dual 12’s vs a single 15, even if it costs a little more. The entry level “good” sub market needs a shake up anyway.

Dead set on PSA though, one way or another!

The truth is like fertilizer, it’s crappy but it helps you grow...

Just buy a V1510. It blew my $500 SVS PB12 away. I had a bass null in my living room. It's 1440 cubic feet. I was going to buy a 2nd SVS Sub. I ended up buying one V1510 and the bass null is gone!

You can always turn down a big sub.

You can't turn up a small one.
