Yeah they are, actually I’m the reason he has them, if you look back somewhere in the YouTube comments I linked him to them when they were on closeout.

EDIT: and I really don’t have room, but I guess I’ll work that out later somehow.

Seems you have a different kind of sub, it says VT36, or is that the point you're making?

Have you definitely got the calibration file loaded for the mic? My understanding is that the sensitivity variable in that file will affect where the response appears on the chart, it's an adjustment.

That was certainly a typo, I usually am on my phone via Taptalk and cannot see my signature.

Check that your Windows input volume on the mic is set to 0?

I haven't read that guide, but for me, 0.0 is what makes the UMIK match up with my SPL meters.

Do you have Windows 8? According to the guide windows 8 you set the Microphone at 0. For Windows 10 you put it to 9.9db.

No, I'm on 10, but again, I haven't read that guide. I was getting readings that were too high when my mic was set above 0 from when I was using it for voice chat while gaming. I took out the SPL meter and 0.0 is where the meter agreed with REW.

If the mic is giving you a crazy reading unplug it and plug it back in and go to the Asio control panel in preferences and reload it. This will happen from time to time

I’m not sure exactly how it will fit in my space, but I can definitively say, this is my ENDGAME subwoofer. There is no upgrading, no being tempted by deeper extension or more output, no room in any house I might move into will be to large for it. I am putting all my ‘’fun fund’s” chips on this bet, and I expect to be picking my jaw up off of the floor for years to come.

I directly blame Hopinater for this outcome. Your reviews gave me the confidence to jump directly from beginner to final subwoofer. (I think Tom owes you a commission) I also should mention @mthomas47 , as he advised (and Hopinater confirmed it) that I should take the shortest route to bliss as possible to save money. (Image attached.)
You made a great decision to just go bonkers right away! I spent so much money inching my way up the subwoofer ladder from SVS and PSA and even worse , I used up quite a few conversations with the little lady!! The "Hey im getting new subwoofers" conversation is never easy and best to be used far and few between....Had I not had this conversation so many times prior , I would probably already have TV36Neos in my possession. I have been casually dropping hints that PSA is coming out with some new stuff and its been followed with " YOU BETTER NOT EVEN [email protected]%K*!G THINK ABOUT GETTING NEW ONES" Of course I will end up getting something but I am just trying to be as patient as possible , plus already having a kick-A$$ setup makes the wait a little easier

This thread seems a little quiet today so how about some stupid, lame humor.

Q: What do you call a dog in your basement?

A: A subwoofer

I was thinking of moving up to dual V1811's. Or pre-ordering the new V1812's... but...

Anyone had PSA ship to Canada (specifically Ontario, not far from the border)? Curious if they even do, and how much extra I might be paying.

I've heard people saying they were surprised how cheap shipping to Canada from PSA is. Best bet is to email [email protected] and request a shipping quote.

Oh boy... do I know all about those conversations. And when you have them every 6 to 18 months even the most patient wife starts to lose their mind. Of course it didn't help my case that I told her on at least three different occasions that the subs I was buying were absolutely the last ones I would be buying for at least five years. It got to the point where she just looked at me and said: "I don't believe you... you say that every time."

The hardest I ever had to work to convince her was for these TV36 iPals. Which was triple hard because it all started off as JTR 2400ULF's, so first I had THAT conversation. Then those turned into TV36 Neos, so then I had THAT conversation. And then those turned into TV36 iPals so then I had the upgrade to iPals conversation. That last conversation was touch and go and I didn't know if I was going to get out of that one alive. Luckily I have an awesome wife who supports my hobby (or should I say addiction) but its all good because I'm not having any more conversations for at least five years...

Subwoofers: PSA TV36 iPal X2 ...Speakers: PSA MTM-210T L/R - PSA MTM-210C Center- PSA MT110SR's Surrounds - RSL C34E Atmos... Motion Actuators: Crowson Shadow 8 - X2

At least the first 4 were all outlet subs and the TV36 was a pre-order. Before all of this, I had a Klipsch Synergy Sub-12 for around 10 years and thought it was awesome.

By the way, didn't you say that you would keep your subs until the Browns won a game?

That's awesome! Lol
My journey was
V1500 3/19/16
Added a 15v couple months later don't have exact date
Added another 15v 7/12/17
Added another V1500 8/8/17

Traded all in on dual S3601's 1/4/18
which is still my current sub situation.
Contemplating trading towards dual S3612's when funds allow.

V1500 3/19/16
Added a 15v couple months later don't have exact date
Added another 15v 7/12/17
Added another V1500 8/8/17

Traded all in on dual S3601's 1/4/18
which is still my current sub situation.
Contemplating trading towards dual S3612's when funds allow.
So what made you switch from ported to sealed?

Do you miss anything from ported?

I wanted something with a smaller overall footprint with 18" drivers. I don't miss anything and these have a bit more weight to their sound signature. I'm also on a suspended floor and the rear one is only a couple feet from my couch so I still get plenty of TR.

Nice! I was always curious about sealed subs...like what am I missing? Well I just started my long journey... after getting a 2nd V1512 I'll probably swap out for pair of V1812...then I'll try out a pair of S3612... Then finally settle on Tv36 or 42 ipal or if Tom is ever crazy enough to do a S7201 iPal lol

A must read in my book, the reason many of us include this link in our Signature

I found the part about volume, and it just says something like "many folks get best results at 9.9" - hardly definitive

On my system, when I set it above 0, the mic SPL readings are definitely off.

We don't talk in terms of losing money around here. Actually, it isn't as bad as you would think. The way Tom handles trade values is by starting with what it will sell for in the outlet and working backwards to account for shipping, packaging, etc. Since I purchased all of my subs from the outlet, the difference between the purchase price and trade value was mostly just shipping costs. I also eliminated shipping costs on my last trade by returning them in person and picking up the TV36.

Factoring all of that in, it cost me about $630 to "rent" the different combinations of subs I was able to enjoy while waiting for the release of the TV36. Sure, it would have been cheaper to just start with the TV36, but it didn't exist when my journey started. I have also enjoyed the incremental upgrades and learning about what works best in my space.
