Thanks, Tom for the quick reply. I will be running my amp, receiver, blu player, and TV off of the same circuit. Haven't had problems before, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

I'm running two V3600's off the same breaker and I usually watch movies at around -14 to -9 (depending on the mix) and my subs are running 8db hot and I've never had a problem.

Thanks! My nerves are eased! I too will run around 8-9 db hot, and typically listen at around -7 db.

8-9 db hot on a V3600i?

Is it common to hear a slight chuffing sound when the sub powers up?

Little improvements/tweaks could always be made to improve things, but I am very happy with my sound right now! Enjoying 2 channel (and movies as well of course) more than I ever have in my system these days. Just need to get my 110 surrounds and later in the year beef up my kickers (they bottom at times with strong <20hz material) and I will be good until I decide to tackle Atmos!

Congrats on the 3600 coming and I am sure you will love it!

Yeah I used to run 6dB hot but that was with DynEq engaged (which by itself bumps up the subs a bit hot). However, I turned DynEq off and found I liked it better over all but by turning off DynEq it also backed off the subs a little... so I bumped them up to 8dB hot to make up the difference.

If you have Audyssey, are you running 6dB hot with DynEQ on or off?

I used to prefer Dynamic EQ, but then realized it tends to bloat the surrounds a bit much for my liking. I keep it off now and both my subs are 6db hot.

UMIK came today and I had just enough time to get REW up and running. Occasional odd issue with what sounded like someone tapping a melody when running sweeps. Going to grab a Windows laptop to see if it persists or if it's strictly tied to the Mac.

Both subs, naked:

Today I placed an order for a S1500 to pair with my SVS PC12Plus(I run it in sealed mode).
I hope I can get them to play well together. I have only one place I can put the new sub, and it's going to be a bit of work to get it going.
I plan on putting in in the hole above the closet...

Excellent response without eq. Will be very easy to have a nice +/- 2dB response with two minor cuts.

Great extension also...are those ported subs?

Same here. But I'm still playing around with how hot I want to run my subs. I put it at a level and keep it there for weeks so I can really get an idea of what it sounds like across a wide range of material.

Yeah, pair of V1800s.

This is what I got with the Rythmiks F15s, MultEQ and the AM 8033 the last time around:

Going to tinker with a miniDSP and give a house curve a whirl this time around. Problem is I have only one day(Tuesday) to do it.

Tom has taken a substantial amount of time to answer all my silly noob questions from their website online chat, on several different days. He is very patient, where I am sure other people would not be, given my lack of knowledge.

I ordered and received a S1500 and Anti-mode 8033s-II from Tom before Christmas.

The order was processed on Monday and the stuff was at my door early Wed morning.

Very well packaged, no complaints about the build quality or appearance.

After hooking it up and playing with the settings, I ran the antimode and unexpectedly spent the next several minutes going around the house adjusting all the numerous things that were rattling that never did before.

I am awaiting a USB mic I ordered elsewhere to arrive so I can run some REW scans and see what is what.

I am extremely happy with both pieces of equipment so far, in fact I am considering sending them back and getting a larger sub and the dual core antimode to take it to the next level.

Unfortunately "upgrade" is a disease that affects AVS in general

(though I admit PSA fans have it especially difficult with all the cool stuff PSA continually releases)

The only other placement option I have is behind the table, close to the couch. When I bought the SVS I had it placed there, I didn't like it being that close to me. I think the S1500 would give a similar feeling, so up into the hole it goes...

I'm also waiting fot the miniDSP DDRC-88A I ordered the same day. I think it will work out pertty well

A number of the PSA subs use a 725 watt IcePower amp, I'm assuming this is the RMS rating.
Any idea what the peak output on these amps are?

What size room at you working with and what are your listening habits like? I have the Antimode 8033S-II like you, running two subs and it was able to calibrate them pretty easily. To say I'm pleased is such an understatement! The Antimode dual core can apply a different correction per channel, which could yield better results, but like you said, it's a big level to jump and there's a good cost increase as well. "How much better could it be?" is a question I've asked even myself a thousand times.

Since you have a USB mic on the way already, I would do some measuring with REW first and see where you're at before laying down some more cash. I think most would agree with me when I say that two smaller subs (dual S1500) placed in good positions that are EQed well will have a better response and desired effect than a single bigger sub.

I believe Tom told me that the S3000i (1700W RMS) has a max of around 5700W peak, which places the 725W RMS around the 2400W peak mark when I run the numbers, but I'm sure he'll chime in shortly with exact numbers for you.
