@ahblaza something weird is going on! I can see in my Tapatalk messages that you quoted me but when I jump on the forum your quote is not there.

Anyway ya it basically is a square considering where I sit. I'm still really new to the omnimic so I'm not saying my system is in any way perfectly calibrated. I have gotten as far as getting the subs where I like and thats about it for the most part. FR is very consistent in all 3 seats but I did have to play with the sub delay a little to get em there. Also I'm getting extra headroom below 40hz with duals but I have noticed little to no gain above that.

I'm sure placement, knowledge and more omnimic experience would defiantly help to better my system. I am however getting 2 more subs so I'm just leaving everything how it is for now and seeing what happened after the subs arrive.

It would be soooo nice if I knew an enthusiasts who was local and could come over and give some first hand help, but for now I just browse the forum and then go wing it and see what I can do. Then repeat.... lol

You can go with 120" I think up to 135". How big a space do you have for your wall? Are you thinking 16:9 or 2.35:1 Quite a few choices! Any chance you can demo something locally? Could you wait until you have your projector and then you could throw an image on the wall, as this would give you another option for selecting you screen size. Using the calculator from projector central is a good starting point to see what sizes are available per image size or projector. Good Luck!
Jeeze I never even thought about the aspect ratio! That's something I'll defiantly have to research. A wide angle would prolly go best in my room. Glad YOU thought of that lizruss

Small world. I grew up in Granville. Hopefully you've heard of it. About 10 miles away in a cornfield.

I like Hawaii just a "little" better.

Left in 81 for the Air Force, lived there about a year 85-86 and then got the hell out of there. Been back a few times over the years to visit family and each time I hated it more and more. I dread having to fly in and out of Ohare.

If I ever go back again I'll pay the extra to fly into Peoria or the Quad cities.

Ya ohare is a nightmare! I would also recommend Rockford. Literally borded in 30 mins.

Anyway if you come back by to see family stop by for a demo! Can't be forgetting about your AVS family now!

@newc33 , I made a post about your room and went to edit and I deleted it. I was trying to convey what I was dealing with in my room, I just mentioned that your room dimensions puts your LP pretty close to the back wall cause you said you sit about 14' from your front stage and your room is 16' X 14'. Looking at your graphs you've managed to get some really good looking FRs. I had to change my LP so many times in my space to finally be happy with the results. It wasn't until I moved the LP further back and the front stage forward that I got what I was looking for.

I had tremendous even bass output to either side of the LP but from my measurements I was sitting smack in the middle of a null. I was losing 5-6 dB in the money seat. I always thought if I get more subs and more powerful models my problems would be solved, I've had more PSA subwoofers in and out of my home than I care to mention. It was an expensive learning curve for me. I can't stress enough how important location, listen, measure, rinse and repeat really is.

I just wanted to respond to your post that you got a notification and when you went to read it there wasn't any thing there to read. My intent was not to say anything detrimental about your room or your setup, if you took it that way I apologize as that was not my intention. I just realize how difficult an almost square room can be and sitting close to the rear wall. You seem to have that under control and I commend you for that. So welcome to the PSA asylum and your input is appreciated, we all have something in common here (more) and aren't afraid to admit it......

Cheers Jeffrey

No worries at all my man! No I didn't take it negatively at all. I hear exactly what your saying and I completely agree and understand.

My previouse house had 12x12ish room which was enclosed except the door to the kitchen. THAT ROOM WAS A NIGHTMARE! Supper hard powerful bass in the corners and then just DEAD in the center of the wall which happened to be the MLP. I really can't comment on the response since I didn't have measuring equipment back then, But I'd have to guess it had huge peaks from 30-50hz also.

You got me thinking about my viewing distance and I actually went and measured to be sure. Looks like I'm actually about 11 feet from my center channel and not 14 like i thought.

I also have moved things around this room endlessly. I mean honestly I think iv spent days doing it if I added all the time up. I also have come to realize that room and placement are absolutely crucial in this hobby, as well as REW or omnimic or whatever else is out there. The problem with all that is I will still endlessly wonder what would happen if I move them even more? Will I find a certain combo that yields me another 5 dB across the board and has an even better response? I'm sure there is a better setup for my situation than what I have but for now it's the best i have found.

For me it's all part of the fun though. Idk if I even want to know the best place really lol. what would I do with my spare time? I enjoy fiddling around with all this gear and I enjoy the constant chase of audio perfection. Iv accepted the fact that it's just an endless journey hahah.

I got my V3600i set up and have been moving her around the room to different positions, however mainly in the right rear corner in different positions and directions.

I have attached the AMDC output of the best position I can get. I am hoping to get some feedback on the current curve and any advice on improvements I can make.

Cheers.

Is there no room up front placement? You should generally start up front until you add additional subs.

Can you post pics of your room? Diagram? Have you tried the sub crawl? How about the REW Room Simulator?

I have never used antimode. I assume one line is the original and the other is the correction line?

Which is corrected? The orange?

I had a similar result with just one v3600i. If I moved the sub to the front of the room I had a good low end response under 60 hz, but terrible mid bass.

If I moved the sub to the back of the room I had good mid bass response bad low end.

Solution was to get a second v3600i. One in front one in back resulted in a pretty flat response.

You can try facing sub toward wall. You can try positioning it so that the measurements to the walls are all different.

For example, if I put my sub in a corner, and pull it out 6 inches from the rear and side wall I get a huge null at 100hz. If i leave it pulled from the rear 6 inches, but push it into the side wall the null disappears.

read this it will explain what is going on better than I am. I hope it made sense.

It looks like you need to do some more experimentation with moving that sub around. The V3600i should have a lot more output below 30 Hz than what you're seeing right now.

My recommendation is to move that sub around the room trying everywhere, even if you don't think you will actually leave the sub there in the end. This will give you an idea of the best location in your room for the sub and it will allow you to experience what that sub can do when placed properly.

Once you have found the best locations then you can wrestle with whether you can make one of those locations work or not. You might be shocked to find how creative you can be to make things work when you are motivated. For instance, I would never have imagined that one of my V3600's would end up where I put it, but I found a way to make it work and it looks fine there.

Bottom line is, the best placement for subwoofer response rarely coincides with the best placement for aesthetic purposes.

Thanks guys for your feedback. I have tried facing the wall but my AMDC readings are worse when I do that and it subjectively sounds better where it is at the moment. I am going to try at the front of the room near where the TV is (and subsequent projector) will be going. I have attached an image of my room and those adjacent to help in my explanations.

I am intrigued how you have your V3600's placed. Can you explain to me or do you have any pictures? I'm certainly open to ideas at this stage.

I am contemplating trying the V3600i at the front on its side. This will sit below the TV / projector and would fit well if the acoustics work. Is it detrimental to have a V3600i on it's side at all?

Again - any further thoughts appreciated.

I have one of mine oriented horizontally underneath the center speaker.

This is my amdc room readout. One in front one in back corner.

Excellent, thanks for the recommendation.

I talked to Tom on Friday and ordered the V3600i. It got shipped out on Friday and hopefully will arrive sometime this coming week. I have a feeling that I'll be setting it up next weekend! Can't wait to hear the difference it makes in my system!

According to all the recent posts, Friday must have been a super busy shipping day for PSA! I'm glad to see so many new additions to the family. They also shipped me another V1800 that's expected Wednesday.

When set up properly, the V1800 pairs beautifully with my corner loaded PC12+. However, I can't wait to unleash the full potential of these 18" beasts without having to dial it back for the weaker sub. I also have a new pair of ceiling reflected atmos speakers to try and integrate, but I'm working the next 4 nights after all this arrives, doh! Burn a vacation day? Lol
