I need front firing subwoofer input under $500.  Ideally more like the $400 range.   $500 is my absolute max.

I'm building a new media cabinet and I'll be placing the sub in the cabinet similar to this (see post #13) so I need to have either front firing sealed or a front firing ported (ideally front ported to the front, but I can make a rear ported work, if needed). Use is 80% HT/ 20% Music.  The room is about 15' x 25' and the viewing/seating area is about 15'x'15'.  Room volume is 3000cu/ft.  We don't usually listen or watch at high volumes.  Don't get me wrong, nobody's taking a nap while we watch, but I'm not rattling the dishes upstairs either....well not yet anyway :)

Here's my narrowed down list so far:

SVS SB-1000 $499                      (I like the compact size of this one, not sure how it compares to the PB-1000, except I like the idea of a 12" bigger is better right?)

SVS PB-1000 $499                     (A little bigger than the SB-1000, but ported - not sure the +/- of ported vs. not ported)

Klipsch RW-12d >$350 used      (this is really a tall sub and will push the height limit of my cabinet, but I can make it work if it's really worth it.

Klipsch SW-110 >$350 used       (I "think" I would be much happier with a 12", but the SW112 is $600 and I just can't go there)

Lava LSP 12 > $350                   (how do I get the 15% discount?)

Polk Audio PSW125 $329

MartinLogan DYN500D $500

Custom Build...I'll only go this route if I can get a significant performance increase over what I can buy for $500.

Past/Current Equipment:

I've been using a Denon 2801 and just ordered a Denon AVR X-2000

Klipsch KSB 3.1 Bookshelf Fronts, KSB 2.1 surrounds and matching center.  They are older but they still seem to work well and I don't want to upgrade the speakers right now if at all possible.

Klipsch KSW 10 sub, but it never really did much to impress me.   http://www.klipsch.com/ksw-10-subwoofer/details#specs

Thanks everyone.
